The OFFICIAL 2009 Acceptance Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Congrats to everyone who's gotten accepted!!

This is a gentle reminder to please remember to let all the other schools know your choice and withdraw your application/interest.

(Is it THAT obvious that I just found out I've been wait-listed at my top/only option!?!? hahaha) :xf:

Sassafras: As someone who is also wait-listed at her top choice, THANK YOU for kindly nudging the lucky individuals who are sitting on more than one offer. 🙂

Accepted via email from POI on 3/2, but I was out of the country on spring break and didn't find out until last night. My first offer!

If anyone here has been accepted at UND but doesn't want to post on this thread, can you PM me?

Not sure if there will be any takers, but thought I'd try 😉

Has anyone heard about Ball State Univ, Counseling PhD?

DannySplat and ilikeeepsycheee,

Congrats to both of you.

Some questions: Is it easy to get funding for a PsyD? Does Widener have multiple scholarships and funding to offer? (Have you accepted/ decided?)

Thanks!
Bird

Hey...I was at the February 27th interview date. I was shocked that I received notification so quickly.

Congrats. I was at the same interview day but have yet to receive anything from them. I'm still hoping. It's odd that they would send out offers so quickly, especially since they still have an interview day scheduled for March 11th IIRC. You must have really impressed them.

Unlike myself, apparently... 🙂

Hello, has anyone heard anything from GW?

I called the secretary yesterday, and she said they actually still had a couple interviews to conduct due to the bad weather on the Monday interview day.

She said we could hear as early as mid-month, or as late as late april!!

my guess is your POI will get back to you sooner than that though, once they have an idea.

hope that helps.

I just received an email acceptance to Xavier University's Psy.D. program.

It says that there are TWO stages of acceptances, so I'm sure there are more on the way! I'm SO relieved that I somehow made it into the first batch 🙂🙂🙂

Has anyone heard from CW Post PsyD program yet? Did anyone ask at the interview when they would hear? Got accepted yesterday to Yeshiva Clinical! Still waiting for Hofstra, St.Johns, and IIT.

So I called BU and they have indeed already made a first round of offers...I dont know if they tell people they are on a waitlist or if they just make more offers as slots open up...we'll see...

🙁 Still crossing my fingers since that is my top choice...

Hate to bother, but I still haven't heard from UC Santa Barbara and their interviews were in mid-January. I was told by the irritable-sounding admissions officer that I'd hear "by the end of March," but I have another offer and I'd like to know where I stand without irritating the admissions office further. Has anyone heard from them yet?

Also, UConn--are they still waiting for permission from the dean to send out their offers?

That's for UCSB, I assume?

Of all the numerous programs I applied to... by this point I've heard SOMETHING (rejection, interviewed, wait-listed, etc.) from all but one.

I know 2 people mentioned interview invites some time ago... but has anyone heard anything else from UNCG?

I have already put them in the "lost cause" category... but honestly, it perturbs me a little that I've received NOTHING from them. I even sent a nice email just asking for a time-frame for info several weeks ago... and after getting a quick response of "I'll get back to you"... that's been it.

I'm trying to be understanding... but considering I applied to very diverse programs (large/small, remote/urban, large number of apps/small number, etc)... I find it a little odd that everyone else has been able to make some contact... except UNCG.

I haven't heard anything from UNCG either. They were supposed to be my "safety" school. My GRE and GPA scores were at the higher end of their range and my research interest matched with more than one faculty, which is why I chose to apply. But I did not get an interview.

However, while I was on interviews for other schools, I did meet someone who got an interview (I think it was at the end of Feb). She already lives in Greenboro. So, maybe they are trying to focus on local people (since they would be cheaper), which would make sense if they are strapped for funding.

I've already counted them as a rejection, even though I have not heard anything from them

Do you think CUNY Ph.D. Clinical is done extending offers?

I wrote to CUNY and received an e-mail stating that "not all admissions decisions have been made." Since I haven't heard word of anyone being rejected or waitlisted, I think this means they just extend additional offers one-by-one as people from the first round reject them. Not 100% sure about that though. It would explain the small disparity in their stats for offers extended/incoming students.

Thank you so much for sharing this info! I was about to email them myself.

Thanks a lot, PGGage. This process is maddening....

We should hear from CW Post PsyD in a "couple of weeks", according to prof who emailed me.

I received an acceptance from C.W. Post on Saturday, February 28th from one of the the professors that I interviewed with. So it seems like individual professors might be calling the people they interviewed.

I went to UNCG's interview on 2/27 and I know they had another one on 3/2. I'm still waiting for them to make their decision. I also know that the 1st week of March was their midterm week and this week is their spring break. I was hoping they would let me know before the break, but nothing yet. Hope this helps. Has anybody else applied to UNCG, went to their interview, and heard back from them???
