*** The Official LECOM Class of 2024 Interview/Acceptance Thread ***

With any school, there is no set in stone date that you will be guaranteed to hear back news regarding your application, only potential dates where they'll notify you of their decision on your application. For LECOM, there are only 3 dates where "batch/waves" offers are sent out: December 2nd, January 2nd, and January 17th (for the 2024 cycle). Sometime after that last date, it becomes rolling admissions until the class is full.

If you do not hear back anything tomorrow, then assume you're now waiting for a position on a rolling admissions. This means you could get that admissions offer at any point until the class size is full (which could happen at any point mid-Spring until the first day of school).

tl;dr those 3 dates mentioned above are the only 3 pre-determined dates where you could potentially hear a decision.

Okay thank you for the clarification! I just thought everything was actually set in stone but I'm slowly learning how the process works. I'm very hopeful for tomorrow. Since I didn't receive a rejection yet that good news i think!

Does their supplemental go out to everyone? I’m trying to remember what it was and I only recall a fee.

I applied 2.5 years ago so I don't exactly remember what the supplemental application entailed other than the fee so I'm not quite sure. @Pearl E. White may remember but I don't believe its sent out to every applicant.

Yup! No news is good news because it still means you're being considered. Only time to start thinking grim is if it's nearing July or obviously if you receive the rejection notice.

If you haven't heard back anything at all (no supplemental application or interview), I would strongly consider thinking of ways to boost your application (DAT, masters, volunteering, etc.) just in case you think you might have to reapply next cycle.

If you haven't received a supplemental application by now, then your chances are probably not as good.
If you received a supplemental application but not an interview, there's still a chance as interviews run until mid-spring.
If you had your interview today, then clearly they're interested in you and not an auto-rejection. They wouldn't waste your time and there by having you interview, if they were just going to reject you.

No news is still good news because that means you're still being considered. If they didn't like you right off the bat, then you probably would've received a rejection on December 2nd.

Best of luck!
Thank you so much! I thought the supplemental application is sending to everyone in order to process the application.
I hope I hear something from school soon regarding my application!
Thanks again🙂

Have they sent out any rejections yet as far as you know?

Any updates? My status is still under review. I was wondering if anyone’s status changed.

My status is still “under review” also. I thought it would change today since this is the next round of acceptances/ rejections

If it didn't change today, it may change on Monday or any weekday after that as it should now be rolling admissions.

Hey, Im a current D3 student at LECOM Dental. Im not sure if you all know but for fourth year we have to go to a remote clinic in either Eerie PA, or Defuniak Springs Fl.

The reason for this post is, Me and my roommate are leaving most of our stuff so we thought it was a good idea to offer it to an incoming D1 student. Were can leave the couches, plates, utensils, pots, pans, bed sets, Desks and chairs. We were seeing if anyone wanted to take our apartment over after we leave. We can Just do a lease transfer. We would have the apartment deep cleaned by maids before we left. If anyone is interested its a 2 bed room 2 bathroom at an apartment complex 5 minutes away from campus. The complex is called Creekside Resort apartments.

We just thought that since we'll probably try and individually sell our things, or throw it away, it might be easier to give someone our furnished apartment. If you're interested email me at [email protected]. Ill give you photos, or more details if you like.

And if you have any questions about school in general, I'm here for that as well!

Gonna screenshot and post this on the Facebook group too, so others that may not be on here can see!

For the students that have the interview already, do you know what time you’re usually done? Will it go longer than 2pm?

Question: doesn’t everyone get the supplemental application? I know for some schools that is the case, but I saw something on here about how that might not be the same for LECOM. Thanks!

Just cancelled my interview today.

Hopefully one of you that is still hoping to interview here gets the chance now! Good Luck everyone 🙂

I am not sure about this one. I have never thought to ask. I will email the admissions representative to see if I can get further information.

Has anyone who interviewed in January received a decision yet?

How bad is the health insurance? Couldn't find any info on it online.

Health insurance is actually the best I’ve ever had. It’s very expensive, but still cheaper than being on my husband’s plan. I had a few health issues first semester that required bloodwork and imaging. I went to in-network providers and paid maybe $45 total for everything. It’s definitely a premium platinum plan, but make sure they don’t do any funny business with enrollment. They “forgot” to enroll me Aug 1 and I had to call to get my card. It was rectified quickly, but stay vigilant.

I have heard back. She stated that the supplemental is accessible for anyone with >2.7 GPA and >16 DAT. That is of course if there are no glaring red flags on the app. Also, sometimes the supplemental information gets sent to the Junk folder and there is not much that can be done about that. She says they try to put the word out to double check the Junk/Spam folders, but it still slips by a surprisingly high # of people. Hope that helps.

Hello guys,
Did everyone who received an interview invite at LECOM had to submit additional letters of recommendation directly to the admissions office (on top of the ones that were already submitted to ADEA AADSAS)? Please let me know, I have tried contacting them, but no response.

I never had to submit any extra letters. From what I understand, if you’re missing something they will contact you. If you’re wanting to submit an extra one or have questions, I would email. That seems to get a quicker response.

So I've never actually had to send LORs, etc directly to admissions but the admissions director told me that its totally ok to do so. They're really bad at responding, I believe because they're actually training a new admissions director this cycle :O so i'm sure they're just busy. But overall she told me she says she doesn't mind if you send stuff to her directly, and also giving updates on what you're doing to continue strengthening your application is looked highly upon.

Thank you for your response! I already had 4 letters submitted to AADSAS (1 from a dentist and 3 from science professors), so I am not sure why they would want more, but my AADSAS status for LECOM says: "Recieved/Waiting additional information", and the on the LECOM portal, my status says: "The Admissions Committee requests all letters of recommendation before making a decision on your file". So since I've already tried calling them and emailing them, the only thing I can do it wait.

If you have copies of the LORs, it wouldn't hurt to email them again just to be safe.

Has anyone from the January interview received a decision yet?

Chances are they are backed up due to training a new admissions counselor. There's usually >3000 applicants every year so it takes a long time for 1 person to sort through all of those.

I got an interview invite from LECOM a few days ago. I was surprised because I submitted my app on November, and my last letter went through at the end of Dec.
I signed up for 2/27. Is there anybody else here on that day? Let me know!

The dental school in Florida is still conducting interviews, which means admissions offers are still actively being made. Usually they hold interviews until Spring but no one knows the status of the class size.

Can anyone help me with the phone number for the admissions office? I can't seem to find to it. Thank you so much in advance!

Those who've been accepted into LECOM Pharmacy - Bradenton, what was your GPA and other stats?

I have an interview in a couple of weeks so I hope they aren't full 😳
They wouldn't still be offering interviews if there weren't spots left to be filled.

If there weren't spots left, they'd be wasting both your time and theirs by conducting "interviews".

Some schools interview for “waitlist” spots, just to make sure they have back up students if some don’t accept the offer. (Unfortunately that happens often towards the end of the cycle, but hopefully that’s not the case for LECOM)

I haven't heard of schools doing that before! :wideyed:

As far as I know, that's not how LECOM manages their interviews and waitlist but since I don't work in admissions I can't say with 100% certainty how they manage their interviews.

I know UDM does this

For those who are curious about the admissions statistics, I have attached a doc here that you can review. This is straight from the Admissions Office. Hope this helps.

I’m having trouble opening this. Would you be able to attach a screenshot?

It's a 2 page PDF so it'd be hard to post full screenshots. Try saving it to your computer, if you were originally on a mobile device.

Anyone get invited to interview this late yet?

Someone asked me for advice the other day and mentioned they got an invite a week ago. So they’re definitely still giving them out at the moment.
