****The Official Roseman Univ. Class of 2018 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

Here's what I think ( Just my reasoning )
1. They are on an extended thanksgiving break.
2. They are making the candidate selections today, and calling tomorrow!?
3. They are telling everyone they call to not post on SDN.

My guess is that it's just taking a while to get in touch with people. The administrative office staff has a ton on their plates right now, and they prefer letting applicants know by phone rather than a mass email. It's slow and it sucks to wait, but be patient.

I think every dental school's admissions office has a lot on their plate, but this Dec. 2 date has been common knowledge for a long time now. To not hear anything today when practically every other school has just seems neglectful.

Edit: I'm not trying to disagree or argue with you. I think may be more mature and positive then me lol
 
I guess I'm not surprised it's taking them a while. Remember how hard it was just to call in their office and schedule an interview? It took me countless times to get through.

If they are indeed offering positions today, surely someone from SDN should have gotten word.

Unfortunately, I think that #3 is a definite possibility. Not to be negative, I think there are a number of equally plausible explanations, but I'm not ruling out #3. Let's hope it's 1 or 2.
 
Do schools actually go out of their way to tell their applicants not to discuss their status on SDN?
 
I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if they ask those accepted not to post things on any social media networks for a bit.

Haha I really doubt that! I was just messing around. What's the point of telling applicants not to discuss their status on SDN. 🙂

Hah sorry, I was trying to light the mood with a little joke 🙂 I don't see them calling today. It's 3 PM there, and they haven't started. ( at least i assume they haven't) haha 😛
 
I definitely remember Dr. Harmon saying during the interview session that they don't strictly follow the December 2nd rule. Last year they called on the first Monday in December though.

Just got the call 25 minutes ago! They're calling now. If they are going in alphabetical order my last name starts with E, although I have yet to find any schools going in alphabetical order. Good luck everyone!!! WOO, it has been a great day!

Ok. So, I got another missed call, again w/ no voicemail (WHY?!), but I googled the number and it's from Roseman....Amanda Farr....

So...is she the one who's making the phone calls?

I wish I could just answer my phone. But my job won't allow it :/

Lol, right? Would be in inappropriate to call the number back? Or should I just wait it out until they try again?

This sounds a bit paranoid, but do you think if they can't get a hold of you they give up your spot to someone else?

I doubt they'd give up your spot, sounds ridiculous if it's true. I don't think it would be inappropriate to return the phone call though since you were called twice now? Also what does your last name start with? I was browsing other schools and I don't know if they call alphabetically (like someone else mentioned) but it'd be nice to see what groups have been reached.

Did anyone who got accepted have their AADSAS change?
 
I got a missed call from a 801 area code but I'm in class and can't call back. Ugh, I'm hoping its Roseman!

Status is still the same "Invited for Interview"
 
So what time will they be making calls til? Can we go ahead and assume that... it's over... and that they don't want me? 🙁

I called back and got the same message. I guess we have to wait til they call us back to know our status fo certain.

VaderJames - my AADSAS portal still says Invited for Interview on both schools I have been accepted to. They must take a few days to update it.

6049 - Roseman was my last interview. I was in the 8 AM group on 11/22.

The person that called me is named Amanda, so those of you with missed calls from her should be good. They are not leaving a voicemail because they want to hear your reaction. They have multiple people listening on speakerphone. I would call back, for sure. There is nothing wrong with that. Hope this helps!

I interviewed on 11/22. I tried calling them back (once more) and got a voice message. Guess I'll wait till tomorrow and try again...
 
So are we to assume that who didn't get a call did not get in?

No one was called today.

Edit: My bad I was in a test and didn't realize people received calls

Come on guys. Keep your hopes up! There's no way they called all 80 students they said they would call, and only 5 of those are SDN users.. Just seems too unlikely! They've probably yet to call the majority tomorrow. In addition, more than half of those will end up declining, which means there's another round of acceptances in January, or whenever deposits are due!!! I'm just trying to stay positive, although deep inside I too am very disappointed.

I really needed that! Hopefully, it's not over yet... 🙁 My only interview this cycle...
 
last year 228 interviewed, 175 accepted, only 80 out of those 175 students actually decided to go
so yea more than half

Right, like the people with 8+ interviews that I talked to at the interview, and those who get in to their cheaper state schools. we have to keep strong in this torturous waiting game.
