Update: just checked my email and got an interview invite a couple minutes ago! LOL

Did you get any email stating that your application is under review before you got interview invite? how long did it take to get the invite from the under review email?

i just got an email today confirming my interview on 10/2 with a detailed itinerary!

just got an email that my app is active & under review. is that a bad thing?

same here :O but my AADSAS portal has said for a while that my app is under review at Temple...

I just got that too.
Do you mind when you completed the app?
Mine is ADDSAS sent 7/20, secondary paid 7/25.

sent my AADSAS app on 7/05 and paid my secondary on 7/17

Just received:

Your application to the four year DMD program at Temple University, Kornberg School of Dentistry is currently active and under review. The school continues to review applications throughout the admission cycle until the class has reached full capacity.

You will be promptly notified when there is a status change on your application.

IS THIS A SOFT REJECTION?? or just sit tight and wait??

Nope, just sit and wait tight I would say. I received that email and then literally 20 mins later got the interview email.

Hmmm. I haven't had an e-mail from Temple since the Payment Notification of the supplemental.

I have my interview next week. Any advice? It is my only interview so far so I want to kill it 🙂

I didn't receive the application review email. The last email I received before the interview invite was that my payment was received (7/25).

Check the feedback section on the SDN school rankings page if you haven't already. There are some pretty good descriptions of the interview process to help you prepare.

hello,
for anyone who interviewed with temple, how was it? any big take aways, memorable interview questions, what was your written essay on? any info would be much appreciated!
Thanks

I noticed that on the interview feedback page there was mention of video interviews. Do they record the interview or are you answering questions that are pre-recorded? Is this still relevant? Also, how long are the interviews? The feedback page made it seem like 5 minutes. Thank you in advance!

From what I heard, you just take 5-10 minutes to talk about yourself, why you want to go to the school, anything special about you that you believe they should consider, etc.

So I read that one of y’all got an interview after the “your application is currently active and under review” email. Has anyone else? I just got one and I’m nervous now.
Also, is that like a soft waitlist? Lol

Hey guys, does anyone know how many people they are likely to interview this year? The stats from the 2016 cycle suggests that quite a lot of people interviewed were able to get in, fortunately. But someone from last year's thread suggested that Temple is now interviewing twice as many people last cycle than the year before. But since (I'm assuming) that the interview days now takes up the entire day again (unlike last year's afternoon+morning sessions), the trend will be more like 2016? That would be really reassuring lol... Just wondering what you guys thought about this

I don't really know how many are interviews but my interview session was still a full day thing, and I think it still is now. People just interview between a couple hours around lunch. I don't know if they changed the way they interviewed partway through the cycle tho

Thanks for the reply tiper, I was referring to last year's thread where people had morning and noon sessions, while this year required us to arrive in the morning promptly. I was wondering if that has changed, and the number of interviewees decreased to what it is like in 2016 in half, meaning a more likely offer from those interviewed (~83%)

Opps forgot to say I interviewed last year lol. I don't know about the number of interviews.

I interviewed last year, but I guess the total number of interviews are about the same this year. Cuz last year they have very few interview dates to choose and the interview started in mid October whereas this year they hold interviews every other week starting from September. But I think compared with 2016, the number definitely goes up. But I don’t know if it goes up by two times or...Anyway, just do your best. I wasn’t accepted on December 1 but I managed to get in finally. Good luck everyone!

Did anyone use Airbnb to stay over during their interview? If you did, how was your experience?
Do you recommend staying at hotel or Airbnb? Looking for some cheap option to stay in.

I got the email that my application is active and under review. Did anyone applied in previous cycles have received this email and was invited for an interview? I got the email ten days ago.

I used Airbnb and had a great experience. Gotta look for ways to save some money lol

My application was completed July 27th have I been passed over in regards to an interview?

Currently staying in an AirBnB five minutes from the dental building. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but I think I can make the walk safely tomorrow lol. Two nights here cost me less than one night in the cheapest (decent) hotel I found around here.

Interviews here, just like in all other schools, are done on a rolling basis. They will get to you eventually and will invite you to interview if they like you, or you’ll be put to the side and invited later in the year if they still have positions open, OR they don’t want you, in which case you won’t know until December. Hang in there :horns:

I applied this cycle, received the email and was invited.

Received a application under review email from them... for a second time. Anyone else have this happen to them? Got the first notification like this mid-September and just got the same notification again today.
same thing happened to me just now

Same! I was thinking since I already got the confirmation that maybe it was an invite

I got this same email about an hour ago as well. If you read back on some posts in this forum, a couple people got interview invites later that day from the first time they/we received this email... so hopefully this means interview invites soon... or waiting a month to get this email again lol

Same. I got the email for the second time. Good thing I wasn’t rejected yet!

I received the application under review email also, but this is my first time receiving it. I’m praying this is a good thing.

Don't mean to sound like a broken record here, but I also received that under review e-mail for the first time since the payment notification e-mail.

After this email ‘under review’ . AADSAS application changed from ‘under review ‘ to ‘none’

Today , It is my first time . My application was completed two weeks ago.
