Is there a Facebook group yet?
not that I know of, I think the upperclassman make itIs there a Facebook group yet?
They have 10 interview dates, 2 of which are post-december. 30 people invited to each interview date. If someone got waitlisted pre-december, they won't hear until February at the earliest (after the remaining interview dates). It seems like a lot of people who got umich acceptances also got multiple acceptances elsewhere, so I was wondering how how post December acceptances work here, do they even give out any post December interviews or just pick people off the pre-December waitlist? I'm wondering if I should still keep hope for this school, applied in June and am IS and did not get an interview here, I have relatively low stats (3.3 sGPA, 3.5 oGPA, 20AA but good EC's and a strong PS) and I know umich takes the best but they also do take people from a wide range of backgrounds
thanks for the helpful info and congrats on your acceptance 🙂They have 10 interview dates, 2 of which are post-december. 30 people invited to each interview date. If someone got waitlisted pre-december, they won't hear until February at the earliest (after the remaining interview dates).
Hope that helps and good luck!
All the current students I spoke at the interview said that anyone who wants to usually can (Assuming they have the grades and that they spent the time to build their application). The way the curriculum is set up, there are a couple class periods set aside each year for students to be able to pursue their interests related to research, or specializing. Look up their Pathways Program for more info.anyone know UMich match rates? (OS, ortho, perio, endo)
Just saw this...3.99oGPA 4.00sGPACongrats!! To those accepted with scholarships, what was your GPA?
I called this morning (I interviewed on November) and people who haven't received any update are still up for consideration. Second round of acceptances is on February.Have people received waitlist/rejection emails?
So if I haven't received a call, nor an email about being rejected, it's safe to say that I've been waitlisted?I called this morning (I interviewed on November) and people who haven't received any update are still up for consideration. Second round of acceptances is on February.

I haven't received anything back yet after paying. For people who already deposited, did you guys receive an email receipt or confirmation of some sorts?
What clinics? I didnt hear anything about new clinics during my interviewHow do you guys feel that the clinics won’t be finished until 2022?
They have a 4 year construction plan so the entire school will be going under construction starting our year and won't be finished until 2022. I loved Michigan, but I decided to not go because of that factor unfortunately :/What clinics? I didnt hear anything about new clinics during my interview

I will be giving up my seat in the class of 2022, OOS. Best of luck!
I will be attending IU. Although you didn't ask, I figure you might be curious, so here is why:Which school will you be attending? If you don't mind me asking.

IU is my state school, so I will save $100,000+ on tuition. IU will be completing a brand new clinical building next month, so the 4 years of construction at Michigan vs. the brand new facility at IU was a huge factor for me. My dentist went to Michigan and I asked his opinion and he told me he felt completely unprepared for private practice after attending Michigan, and his associate who he hired a few years ago graduated from IUSD in 2012 and said his associate is proof that IU will prepare me well clinically. However, my dentist that went to Michigan graduated 25 years ago, so things most definitely change. However, I couldn't ignore the advice of a Michigan grad telling me to go to IU, especially since I'll save a ton of money.
Probably tough to find any university with zero construction. No construction = no innovation. They have a 4 year construction plan so the entire school will be going under construction starting our year and won't be finished until 2022. Congrats for the acceptances to all of you!!! Just wondering if any Canadians got in ?

I can’t seem to find this on Facebook.. mind just posting the link? Also how are you ensuring that not a bunch of randoms are requesting to join/being accepted..? I suggest adding a password to join.. maybe something that was specifically stated in our acceptance emails?Hey all! I'm a senior at The University of Michigan and after attending our pre-dental meeting tonight, the dental students recommended creating a Facebook Group! I created one, it's called "The University of Michigan Dental Class of 2022" locate it and request to join! I can't wait to meet you all 🙂

Correct.
yes I doDoes anyone still have "Invited for Interview" under decision status ? with no further email regarding wait list ?

Based on previous threads, post-Dec interviews have always been within January.Do you know if the two post-december interviews are all in January?
I thought we were supposed to as well but I haven't received anything eitherDid anyone get an acceptance packet in the mail? I haven't gotten one but was wondering if we're supposed to
Congrats! What are your stats and when did you submit your app?I just got an interview invitation! I was also told that they will give a final verdict to us all in early February. All of us in dental school purgatory will know soon ifwe are waitlisted, denied, or accepted.
Best of luck every one!![]()

Hi! Can you tell me a little bit about how munger works? Is it really 600ish for your own room? can we pick our own roommates? pls and thank youu
its know to be a very competitive atmosphere. I asked my tour guide about it and he said you'll find competition everywhere and you'll find your group where ever you go. It might be very high strung and competitive, after all it is U of M.Hey guys,
Between a couple of family and work things, I haven't been able to even think about where i will be attending yet, causing me to put down a couple of deposits to multiple schools, Michigan being one of them. While I would love to go here, I felt like the current students I met at UM were a little more... competitive? High-strung? Cynical? I loved everything else about the program though, and all the faculty members I met during PBL were awesome. However, the people on the UM admitted facebook page has BY FAR been the most friendly, open, and outgoing from the other school. I guess I'm just curious-- did I get a rough batch of students at my interview? Did anyone else notice this vibe? Can current students speak to the general atmosphere and let me know if I was imagining it or not? Please feel free to DM me too for privacy.
Thanks guys... try not to judge me too hard, I promise if I could, I would've asked this long ago.
For sure for sure... I recognize that every school has its mix of students--gunners, slackers, whatever. And I know that every school is going to kick our butts at one point or another. I guess I was just curious if anyone else got those vibes and are just shaking it off because it's UM? Or if other prospectives felt like it was friendly and awesome and don't know wtf I'm referring to. I mean who knows, I could've simply gotten unlucky with a group of students who I personally wouldn't want to study with lolits know to be a very competitive atmosphere.
