***The Official Western University Class of 2020 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

For those who put down the deposit already - is it pretty instantaneous when you pay it, or is there a grace period that the money needs to clear? I plan on putting down a deposit when the school opens up again after break but am slightly concerned it takes like 3-4 days to process and then I'm faced with trying to beat the deadline.

My friend just got an invite yesterday for a Feb interview, so they're still giving them out. Meanwhile....I get the app is still with them email 🙁

Anyone of you that received app still with us email wrote why Western in the secondary? Cauze I didnt

I just cancelled my interview with them on Jan 29th a few days ago- I know it's last minute but hopefully one of you guys will get the spot!
 
I interviewed back in october and have yet to hear a word from westernU. whats going on? i believe from last years thread, they send out a massive wave of acceptances and waitlists around Feb. 8th. Has anyone heard from them?

yea i did mine on Oct. 2nd. Haven't heard from Western U yet. Still waiting... Getting nervous but staying positive and getting ready for the next application cycle~ 🙂
 
Can anyone shed some information on what are the interviews like? any advice for preparation?

Congrats, I just got off the phone with Andrea Nuno, and she basically said the same the 6th is the last interview date and that if you haven't been invited for an interview, there is still a chance from now until the 6th to be invited.

check the facebook page...that's probably 75% of the ones already accepted based on my guesstimate.

I just got an interview invite today to western and I was wondering if it's worth the cost to fly and interview there. I'm currently in Hawaii right now because I just graduated and am accepted at Creighton and UNLV. I was wondering if current students or people who already interviewed there can give me insight on their clinical experience. Please let me know asap 🙂 Thank you!!

I got accepted to Creighton and WesternU and chose WesternU! A good friend of mine's dad is one of WesternU's founding doctors who teaches at ASDOH now, and he said it's better clinically than Creighton. It was a tough choice, because they're both great schools (I still haven't heard back from UNLV), but I'd encourage you to go interview! I loved the feel from the school, and that's how I knew which I fit better at

Thank you so much for the immediate response. Do you know how much students end up specializing and how their clinical are divided up among students?

You caught me at a good time lol, I just got another interview and I'm researching haha! disclaimer: I'M DEF NOT AN EXPERT BUT FROM WHAT I'VE HEARD: they do, like, rotations for the different clinical sessions that seem pretty dope, and, apparently, the grads have pretty good placement into post-grad programs. I know Creighton is great for that, too, which was def a draw. I mean, if you have the work to back it up, you can do what you want as a graduate of any program -- everyone comes out a denist. For me, it came down to where I saw myself as a student and community member.
