Heres how it works. You make the best possible guess as to your score in each section, including the writing sample. When the scores come out, someone bumps this thread and the winner gets the unyielding adoration of all the dorks on SDN. I'll start:

PS: 12
VR: 10
BS: 12

WS: Q

I'll join in the fun...how about we also include which form, just to compare

Form: CG

PS:12
VR:7-8
BS:13

WS:Q

I'll hope that I got at least a 32. So, I will guess that I got some combination of scores adding up to 32.

Dem's awful cocky numbers yer throwin round. My goal when I started was 13 13 11 and if I'm being totally honest I would have guessed BS 13, PS 12, VR 11....just didnt want to jinx myself!

PS 14
VR 13
BS 13

I'm not giving up on the dream dammet
by the way we can just cheat and edit our posts later on
oh yeah writing: S

The thing is that I really think that is what i got. I was solid on the bio and PS, but it was the verbal that really killed me...but then on the other hand, i may be biting off more than i can chew.

10P
12V
12B
Writing: P (I froze on the second topic - couldnt think of crap, and with 30 seconds left, I realized that the essay wasnt unified - whoops)

10-11PS
12V
14B

It's pretty odd, I went into the test with PS being my best section (ave 13's) and had trouble finishing EK verbals and AAMCs, but those two basically flipped-flopped for the real thing. The PS was incredibly difficult and I'm sure the 5-6 I guessed on were probably wrong. Bio on the other hand was easy; I felt like I didn't miss a question.

Real thing: 37Q

13P 10V 14B

right on with the bio.

two months blaaahhhh. Meh. ... meh.

I dont even want to think about prospective scores at this point 🙄

So if Bio was super easy, why didnt you do better than PS? 😉

It seems only the supremely confident dared to venture into this thread. Everyone else is bitching about PS and VR. I was so dazed from only sleeping about 4 hours that I read the first paragraph of the first PS passage four times. After the third time, I took a deep breath and tried again. After that though, it seemed ok. I remember some ambiguous questions in PS but I only out and out guessed on 1. I narrowed it down to 2 on about 6-7 and the rest I feel good about. Given that, I'm only guessing a 12 on PS because I've only broken 13 once in AAMC tests...and that was by 1 question.

You guys seem assured that you'll crack 12's, 13's and even 14's even though you appear less confident in your performance than I am with mine. Whats up with that? Its starting to freak me out--maybe I took it wayyy to easy and I'll end up with something massively disappointing like a 31.

PS:10
VR:10(maaaaaaaaaaaybe 11)
BS:10

I averaged 11/12 on every section(with highs of 14 on PS and VR) on all of the AAMC practice tests but I never felt so bad after taking one of them as I did at the end of today. I honestly think I would be lucky if I went straight 10's. I missed 2 "gimmies" at the end of the CH form BS, *cough glucocor*cough*ropane*(we can't discuss specific questions, right?) because in self-doubt I changed both answers with 5 seconds left(where's the "slap forehead" emoticon?), and I think that if I missed those, it exemplifies how I wasn't in the zone.

PS: 10 - 11

VR: 10 - 11

BS: 12 - 13

Total: 32 - 35

(The above is made with the assumption that an appropriate curve is applied to the Physical Science section.)

Wow...I guess the April 05 MCAT was easy eh? After the Aug 04 MCAT, no one dared to expect a score higher than 32.

Keep in mind that the MCAT is curved. If you think you aced the bio section, chances are 90/100 test takers think the same way. A score of 12 in a section is equivalent to 93-95%tile, that means out of 100 of you, only 5 would get a 12 or above. Those of you who think you're getting a 14 on a section, sorry to bust your bubble but a 14 is very very rare (even among us overachieving SDNers).

It's great that many of you are confident about your exams. But seriously, out of respect for those who didn't perform as well on the test, keep your confidence to yourself. 👍

PS: 11 (arg... usually my best section :meanie: )
VR: 10 (yeah... usually I get 8-10, but I could actually reason out 75% of answers on the real thing)
BS: 12
Writing: Q (I'm not a writer, I'm an engineeer!)

If those who are feeling insecure don't want to hear from those who feel confident, I think they'll be quite capable of avoiding this thread by themselves! 🙄

so is the house taking any bets against the people? I've known people taking the MCAT for about 4 years now and I've only ever heard 1 person scoring what they think they would by one point. So, I'm placing a bet against on the house.

PS: 1
VR: 1

WS: L

Total: 4L

Yeah baybe I'm going to Johns Hopkins! Yeah!
They have to take into account the fact that I'm a bird with a smaller brain and practically no cerebrum! This is an awesome step for poultry 😀

You are mistaken. 1's are rare, but they do happen. Don't people read the score report that they send in the mail?

haha. yeah, I guess you're right. the chances of you getting a 1 are as low and you getting a 15 on a section. well...hey, i guess that can be a good thing.

what are we talkin about, we're SDNers. we strive for ATLEAST 10s.

Well, I'm being honest with myself.

PS 8
VS 10
BS 7
N

It's gonna be a long couple of months waiting to see how well we guessed.

I studied my butt off for this administration of the MCAT, did about as well as i expected, and am trying hard to keep myself both optimistic and conservative in this guesstimate.

Form BG
PS 10-11
VR 10-11 (oh please, a 12)
BS 10-11
WS anywhere between an O and a R. Let's see. 🙄

I believe that I won this in last April's "predict your score" thread. I would like my undying adoration now, please. UPS Ground would be OK. 😎

Okay. Well on the practices I was getting 10 13 12

PS - 10 (9-10)
VR - 14 (13-15)

Sure...I'll send mine out labled:

The A-Hole who got a 39 and wants SDN love on top of it 🙄
Somewhere in VA

That should get to you right?

Yup, that should take care of it. 👍
I like Shredder's prediction this year. If you can't be beautiful, at least be bold, right?

Except, of course, Shredder may be both...unlike me.

You are mistaken. I know a person that didn't study last summer and got a 9 total with 4,3,2 as a breakdown. Its sad but true. Then they lied trying to tell people they got a 24. However, I saw their official report and it confirmed what I'm saying. So it is possible to get that low, however you would have to either have been lazy or completely incompetent to get that. In this person's case, they were way to lazy to study.

PS- anywhere from 11-14 (14 on practice tests)
VR- 8 - 11 ( 10 avg on practice tests)
BS- 12-14 (got 13 on last real MCAT)
Writing- who cares! (got R last real MCAT)

so total l-h 31-39

Does everyone really think their practice tests will be indicative of their actual scores? My predictions don't reflect my practice scores...I hope my score does, though! I just felt like I had to guess more on the real thing.

Amen Junebug, This is Vagus (hehe)- You will see little return if your spread is 8 points. If one wants the gratification jackpot, one must take a risk.

tsk tsk tsk...Vagus...i hates medical humor :sarcastic:

Okay ... no range. I had form AN.

PS. 13. I didn't guess on anything, about 5 questions i wasn't sure 100%. guessing 13 because of dumb mistakes.
VR. 10. I'm not that good in this section, but I did get a 9 last time on the real mcats, and thats with doing 2 passages in the last 5 minutes. this time i had time to do all at my own pace.
BS. 14. 1 stand alone question I totally guessed on, 3 or 4 not sure 100%, rest were easy.
writing section - R.

As long as i get >35 I'll be happy.

You people posting ranges need to post firm numbers, not ranges. It doesnt work otherwise.

Okay...lemme think about this...my thoughts on my performance have changed somewhat...Form DG...

PS: 12

VR: 10

BS: 13

WS: 👎 😀 👎 (<-- that green smiley has some bigass toofers)

Total = 35

So, how does thou find my guestimates, o wise one?

I'll guess
PS 11 VR 12 BS 12

That's taking my practice tests and subtracting a few points for sucking where I thought I sucked. I'd be surprised if I got much lower because the difference between a 13 and a 12 is like 1-3 questions but a 11 to a 10 is like 5-8 questions.
