They said this afternoon. The dean's told us that we did better in the match this year than last...so I'm really waiting for the list to see what they mean. But my measure for a "great match" is the number of people who get their top choices, regardless of where that program is. Lots of people I talked to where getting either their first or second choices...didn't say many dissapointed people, surprisingly. Unless they hid it well. Fetus...I'll let you know when it's up.

Oh I was...I cracked open my bottle of blue label Johnnie walker that I've been saving for almost 3 years. Plenty of shots and drinks (had only 1 beer the entire night).

The best news of the day though, was my friend who didn't match that many of us were helping during the scramble. He managed to get an interview from an anesthesia program in Chicago...and after the match cermoney, which must have been tough for him, he got a call asking him to sign a contract. 👍

Night number 2 of match 2007 will begin at some point in the next few hours. I am currently suffering from pleuritic chest pain and a productive cough. Life is great! 😀

Dude, you don't deserve that UNC logo anymore. Picking Duke is just wrong.

I for one, did pick Duke to lose in the first round like a good UNC alum. Now about picking Creighton to go to the elite 8, that's another story......

Oh trust me, I still have issues with it (just as you and everyone here that's seen the answer and replied), but his answer in his email told me in code that he wasn't going to change his mind. It will not be smart for me to pursue this further, so I just decided to bite my lip and refrain from saying some nasty things to him. Stupid professionalism rules here (once you are on the radar, you never leave it).
 
hmmm...haven't eaten since noon and I still can't decide on what I want to eat...sad...

I heard some gunshots (about 5-6) around 30 minutes ago, and yet no sirens. I guess they missed their target...or the target will be found when everyone wakes up. I just love the neighborhood.
 
I learned something this evening. If your waitress takes 30 minutes to bring you your coffee, and you asked for decaf, it probably isn't decaf. Ask me how much I've read this evening.

Happy St patty's day. I will be drinking later tonight...when the so gets back in town 🙂 Until then, I am cleaning and doing laundry.
 
Just checked my bracket...only messed up on 3 so far...and I didn't have any of those going on anyway. Tis a good day...until my luck starts changing (which I'm sure it will)

Oh how I don't want this weekend to end. 1 more week until I have to do my required medicine sub-i. So not cool. I figure reality will set in once the weekend ends. There's a lot to figure out in the coming months. 👍
 
Oh and my GF got her #1 also...Boston Children's for peds. I'm so proud of her. It's really been bitter sweet for both of us this weekend. 🙁

I'm with you. I have a required Oncology rotation after next week. In order to cut down on skipping, they have our preceptors sign what basically amounts to a hall pass.😡
 
No posts on this thread in almost a day. What's going on here. I'm trying to relax after non-stop partying for since the Friday before match day.

So The Boy got himself a brand-new 40" LCD tv today. Almost as soon as we finished setting it up and putting the new tv stand together he had to leave to go work night float. Hmmm...new tv, new Wii, whatever shall I do tonight....

My poor GF got the flu on match day and hasn't been able to properly celebrate with the rest of us. I am now starting to feel crappy. I hate the flu!
 
At least you don't have an encorpretic cat who likes to poop on the stairs at night so you get a lovely gift on your way up in the morning.

Yeah, my dog is encopretic, and won't go if it is cold or raining outside. So I come home to find surprises on the door mats. Don't know why she chooses that over the vast expanses of hardwood and linoleum in my house, but that's what she does.
 
What a life. post call from medicine. call is great.. maybe I should drop out of EM.. NOT!
