I had my last dermatology clinic today as this odd required rotation in "skin and bones" with some rheumatology mixed in begins to conclude. Although derm is the most boring specialty in the history of man, the good ones really have a great knowledge base for the most obscure things in medicine. It upsets me that they make so much money too....😡

Oh my I got KILLED today on medicine.. i had 8 from before.. I showed up and guess what.. yep! 5 new ones PLUS the other intern was off and my resident was in clinic.

Thing is the pace brought me back to the ED.. it was kind of nice.

On the happy front, hubby and I are almost done with re-framing and re-tiling the master shower. Yay! Sometime within the next week I'll be able to:

1) use the thing

2) not think about tiling whenever I'm at home

3) not feel guilty for not tiling when I'm at home.

All of the above will be nice.

I get to go on a road trip tomorrow to go find an apartment.

Then in a couple weeks, I get to go on another to find one for my wife. Although we may be hooked up by ST.

Whats funny is that me and my wife have been working on our watering system in the house and making the outside look nice. It has been all consuming. Numerous trips to home depot/lowes, hours in the sun etc. It was great. it looks real nice and all the water stuff is running great.

I'm glad you liked working on the house. I'm just ready for this project to be done.

After this one is done, we get to re-gout the downstairs shower! Yay!

Okay, not so much yay.

And then after that - the kitchen!

I've decided that home ownership is just a never ending do-to list. Oh well.

The shower surround is going to be wicked cool when it's done. Porcelain tile that looks like slate. Ooohh...

And I didn't know how to spell porcelain until I bought the tile. I can learn! I can, I can!

See, we've done all the work ourselves. Which leads to some pride - the only reason the paint is no longer jaundice yellow is the sweat of our own brow - but also some frustration - some of the new paint is also on the 14+ foot otherwise black ceiling.

I have learned a ton about tiling. So when we try to redo the kitchen, it should be much much easier.

Finished laying the last tile about a hour ago.

In three days, I get to experience the joy of grouting!

Oh yeah, and I have our biggest party of the year to finalize.

I just matched too, but I was incessantly on SDN prior to that and probably ignored my gf a little, so I made a deal to cut down on SDN after the match. I was wondering if anyone else had that happen to them, or have they cut back naturally since the match is over.

I actually find myself visiting here more often! ..and certainly posting more. I am not sure why, but I think it is partly that I feel I can start giving back to those below/following us...as I recall how much help I had gained from this board over the past year or so!!

EDIT: Forgot to also mentioned I recently discovered how entertaining the Pre-Allo forum is and it proves that I have actually learned something over the past four years. Can a medical student have an animal, or are they just never home? Do med students date? Do med students ever get to go out and party? What is an internist are they just a doctor who takes care of the insides? Do I need to get a 1600 on my SATs to be a Surgeon? I am a certified licensed double stamped vocational nurse, can I go to medical school? Etc, etc, etc...

If you look presentable hardware stores are pretty willing to give you a large cardboard box. Then you just have to find the least sketchy park that also doesn't have too many cops who want to hassle you.

When I was studying for the MCAT...(pause) I would have nightmares about living in a box on the side of the street. I guess, I was just nervous because there was nothing else in the world I wanted to do and certainly nothing with my degree. And now that I have almost completed all of medical school and on my way to my first pay check...I might actually have to live in that box...terrific.

My gf and I have been researching online. We can't head out there until around May 10th. I think we are going to rent for now since we may need to move to another part of the area after a year depending on if she gets into pharmacy school and which one.

I do too. I went yesterday 🙁 I had a filling that fell out, so I had to go, then he decided to do xrays and found a new cavity...happy to have the lidocaine shots!!!
