Bah, I'm barely over 49... I don't make the cut. Are we doing this for scientific purposes to see how it goes for everybody or is this still largely an underdog thing? Are we adding 49-51.5?

I'm at 3.5 cGPA, 3.61 sGPA, 3.555 aGPA. 27N MCAT.

Very interesting. I won't be booting anyone (not the point of the thread) but there are some people who should feel a little better about their chances, which is a good thing.

I decided to take the plunge and create an MD apps to hopefully give some feedback to anyone who is interested. I have also decided to come clean and say that I may have over embellished my MCAT score 🙄. I was getting torn apart on the front page. My MDapps are accurate (27 to a 26 MCAT) as is the front page now. I'll update my page with some more info when I have some time.

I'm wondering if I should leave it as is, or have a group of underdogs, group of not so underdog supporters, and a group of supporters who have already gotten in. Any ideas to keep it nice and organized will now be entertained

I just took the people who were listed in the thread as underdogs and whose stats were available. You are above average in all so you definitely aren't an underdog. I was more looking to see how the different brackets played out. We could go higher if we wanted.

So far, just one interview at LECOM Bradenton. Been under review at Erie for over a month now. Not sure what's going on with that.

Yeah, I've been complete since June 30th. Apparenlty this is not uncommon though, being the busy season and all.

I'd vote for a sticky as a results thread at the end of the cycle to show people the odds of getting in with a certain GPA. Stickies are generally not meant for a thread like this, just look at the 60+ page what are my chances threads that went in here.

The results can be more turned into a FAQ for the what are my chances. I think it'd be cool to see a X applied, X accepted for certain GPA/MCAT combo charts like AMCAS posts, too bad AACOMAS doesn't track that kind of thing.

I quit because my MCAT scores were both low (24, then 23) even though my practice was better but I was tired of seeing people complain about having like a 3.8 GPA and a 36 and wondering if they should retake, like you guys. My MCAT is still a bit low, but I hope my gpa (3.7, s - 3.5) and ECs help. It's nice to see others in the same boat as me, I don't feel alone 🙂

LOL. I can't stand when that happens either.

I once saw someone make a "What are my chances at DO?" thread with a 3.8 GPA and a 34 MCAT or something. I really don't see what they were trying to accomplish.

Also, I once did this experiment here where I stalked a "XXX date MCAT club" thread and waited until the day their scores were released. Out of 100 people reporting their scores in that thread, like 7 of them reported scores of 25 or below. That's ridiculous, because 25 is the national average, so there really should have been around 50 of them reporting scores of 25 or below.

I can see where you would think it should be pretty balanced around 25 but think about what you said in the second paragraph. "Only the most serious pre-meds even use this site." Many people who score lower each year are not as serious about it as people on here, hence higher scores. I agree, many people don't post their scores once they get them but not just because they are low. Some people just like the support of the X/X MCAT thread while they are studying/preparing and don't feel the need to post their score. I know I didn't

Just got back a little while ago from a nice 10 hour drive. (I hate the GW bridge). Now watching some royal pains

I see you're trying to overthrow me already . I'll have to start taking applications for the next leader. All applications require a min. 34 on the UCAT (Underdog College Admissions Test), 32 letters of recommendation, and a few thousand hours shadowing and volunteering. Application fee is 24 grand. We do not screen and offer secondaries to everyone, only 10 grand. (we reserve the right to never look at your application)

I guess that in next 2-3 weeks things will be hot. There will be more activities from admission offices. They seem sto be busy to start the new classes.

What made you decide to withdraw from all the schools except WVCOM? You are from NY, didn't want to give a shot at NYCOM or somewhere else?

I'm glad you loved Erie so much. I plan on checking out every school I get an interview at unless something blows me away to the point of thinking I would not want to attend anywhere else. Which it seems LECOM did for you

I applied to MD schools (before I knew my new score) instate and then to the 3 DO schools I liked but then went broke and couldn't apply to anymore. My birthday is coming up at the end of august...maybe I can squeeze money out of people to apply to a few more schools hahaha!

I'm from long island, don't want to go to school in Westbury (NYCOM). I do not have the $200 to cough up for TouroCOM-NY's secondary right now, and the cost of living in either place would be ridiculous. I was lucky enough to study in Finland for a semester and ever since then I have been all about going to new places and experiencing different cultures / areas. Both NY schools have a majority of NY students which goes against what I am looking for. LECOM has rotations on long island (and in five other states) which would allow me to go home for a little but not overdo it.

The only other two schools I was truly interested in were WVSOM and UNECOM. LECOM's tuition blows both of them out of the water, but everyone I spoke with at WVSOM seemed so inviting that I could not possibly pass up an interview invite if offered.

Couple those feelings with my post on the pros and cons of LECOM and you can see it's really a no brainer for me.

I hear ya 👍 BTW, I was born and raised in Southampton (born in Southampton Hospital, lived there for 12 years before moving) and up until 2 years ago went back out to Montauk for 2 weeks every summer to visit friends and family. Where on the island are you from?
