Hi everyone, this is my first post in this forum though I've followed it for a while already.
I'm applying this year, so it would be great if you can give me your opinion.
a. Schools you are applying to: All schools in California, except Loma Linda.
b. Overall GPA: 3.95, from CSUN.
c. Math/Science GPA: roughly the same
d. GPA in last one or two school years: 3.98
e. Complete PCAT scores (or just composite): No PCAT
f. Pharmacy experience obtained: only 5 months as volunteer at CVS-6 hours/week, and one semester volunteer at the student health center.
g. Date of application submission (PharmCAS/primary and secondary): I submitted PharmCas around 7/20 and I've just finished my supplemental application for Touro, UOP and USC.
Additionally, the following will help us gauge your chances but are more optional:
h. Number of LORs and source of LORs: 2 from my chemistry and microbio professors, 1 from the pharmacist where I volunteer and 1 from the Chemistry Department Chair of the community college where I work.
i. Non-pharmacy work and/or volunteer experience: 4 years as a server, 3 years as a chem lab assistant, 4 years as a college tutor, volunteer at Senior Center for the last 2 months.
j. Self-perception of interview skills: not that great. I'm not very confident about my English, let it be writing or oral... But hopefully, with practice, I will improve.
k. Overall impression of personal statement quality: I think it is okay.
As I only applied to CA schools, I know their requirement are quite high compared to other schools that require PCAT. I know my GPA is decent, but it's from CSUN, so it's not that impressive really. As I have to go to school fulltime when working 35hrs/week, I don't have that much time for EC. I also don't hold any official leadership tittle. The schools I really want to go to are USC and UCSF. What are my chances for those schools? Should I apply to more schools?
Thank you so much for your help.
What is CSUN? is it a california state university?
