i will be in Birmingham in the near future checking out the program as well as the local area. my interview is on a monday but i am coming in around noon on saturday to give myself a solid 24 hours to nose around and get a feel for the place.

i'd love to hear any suggestions for things to see or do with my Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday morning/afternoon. i'll have a rental car so i'll be mobile. attractions, points of interest, great restaurants, theatre, etc. all suggestions are welcome. i might convince a friend from TN to visit while i am there, but otherwise i'll be doing this solo. don't leave me hanging or i'll be forced to take my dollar bills to the bar.

Drive to the nearest Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail course and tee it up. Even in the winter, the courses are phenominal.

Golf is a good option. There are a lot of places to hang out around the 5 points district. If you don't mind spending money, go to Ocean for some good food. Not far from there is Five Points Grill which is a good place to grab a beer. There's always a friendly crowd there.
