Hector, I believe that no one can think to have rocked the CS, especially f you are an IMG and your mothertongue is not English. I made some mistakes, like :
1) running out of time twice while writing the note, thus not completing the physical examination part in its integrity once and the workup plan once - I could write just one or two tests - but in this second case I had summarized all the necessary tests to the sp while ending the encounter
2) forgetting washing my hands in one or two encounters... I know this is pretty bad according to what is posted on this forum... Don't know what to think about that, I hope it won't make me fail the whole thing
Otherwise, I did a basic PE (cv, pulm, gi, ent and extremities) on almost every patient, with a more focused examination depending on the case. I had a lot of tough questions (like FA ones), but I was prepared to answer them, so this was no big deal. I did not summarize every single encounter, but I always did closure and explained to the patient every possible diagnosis and their chances and the workup plan. I never ran out of time during the encounters, I always had 3-5 minutes spare.
Except in that one case listed above I wrote many tests in the workup plan, grouped by type (blood, urine, radiology...etc)
In one of the last cases I was reeeeeeeeeeally tired and I was forgetting to elicit a sign that was fundamental for the diagnosis... So I had to do it WHILE talking to the patient...Thank God I thought about that, bcs the sign was + and so that one was the more likely diagnosis, I could've missed it totally!!!
So... I hope that something (good, btw) will come out tomorrow... I'm starting freaking out!!!
What do you think about my mistakes??? Are they toooooooo bad to pass???
