Anyone applying here? I thought I'd start a thread for us to keep up to date with apps/interviews/etc. since the other Jefferson threads have become a great source of general info.

TJU is at the top of my list given the way their curriculum has been structured, school arranged IPPEs through out the year (vs. self arranged, during the summer), and part of a major health system.

My stats aren't off the charts stellar, but I think they are acceptable enough to get me an interview :xf::

- GPA: 3.4
- sGPA: 3.5
- PCAT: 80 composite
- Non-traditional applicant (career change) - No pharmacy experience, but 13 years in finance.
- Decent amount of ECs/volunteering.
- Other schools applying to: U of Maryland, Campbell, Pitt, SCCP

Anyone else out there?

I'm applying to JSP too! 😍 My friend went for an interview last year and he absolutely LOVED it and came back with nothing but good things to say. It's definitely one of my top choices and thinking about it makes me nervous haha. I haven't submitted yet though.. but hopefully soon.:xf:

GPA: 3.1 - 3.2 👎 BA in Economics from NYU, 3.7 GPA last 2 years though.
PCAT: 91

My GPA always makes me nervous, putting an 18 year old Californian in the city on her own and then having half her school officials go on strike makes for a very rocky start 😳

I'll be applying here too. I'm a bit nervous and excited too. My stats aren't stellar either

GPA: 3.4
PCAT: 80

Has anyone heard anything about the supplemental?
Good luck!

Sparkly, you've got a great PCAT score! And you've got your BA from a good school.
knguyen, our stats are identical!

I haven't heard anything about the supplemental. My understanding is they send them out (via e-mail, I believe) AFTER they have received our apps from PharmCAS. It's just so weird given that all the other supps are available for download basically now.

Anyone have any insight as to what their supplemental is like? So far, the two I've filled out (for Campbell and Md) were basically data based. No essays or anything. Oh, and extra money, of course.

Have you both submitted yet?

I haven't heard a thing about the supps, but then again, I'm still hesitant on pressing that submit button! :scared: I do know from my friend (who was accepted last year) that the supp is apparently very easy? He said it was one of the easiest and shortest ones that he had to complete. Not sure if that's a good thing but at least we won't be crunched for time on it.

thanx Belle

I already submitted my application to pharmcas. I received my supplemental via email for Midwestern and was wondering if anyone received anything from Thomas Jefferson

I plan on applying here (submitting within the next few weeks.) Other schools are Pitt, Cinci, Temple, Md, St John's Fisher.

Stats- Junior, BioSc Major
3.3 Gpa 2.9 Science 65pcat 🙁 retaking on aug 21
-3 years, 1500+ hrs as retail tech
-currently shadowing in a hospital pharmacy
-1 semester of non-pharmacy research
-pharmacy research position for fall semester

Goodfellas, at least you've got some good experience under your belt.

I checked with Jeff on the supps - they said they would go out to us individually in an email once our app is downloaded (by them) and reviewed. Mid- to late september probably.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully I can get my apps out soon and start working on the supplementals.

Thanks for the update! I'm so anxious for the supplemental and want to finish it already.

You guys should make use of http://www.pharmapplicants.com/ to get a better view of the applicant pool.

For the few of us posting so far, things look pretty good (as long as there are some unspoken intangibles we can bring to the table )

For TJU,

According to the pharmapplicants website:
Avg. Accepted GPA is 3.16
Avg. Accepted PCAT is 80.63

According to Jefferson:
Avg. Accepted GPA is 3.28
Avg. Accepted PCAT is 73

And not to be mean, but I highly doubt the avg. accepted PCAT at South is a 99 composite.

Has anyone received a supplemental app via email?

Nothing here 🙁 My app was sent out on 9/7 though so it's only been like 3 days. From what I see from last year though, the supplemental isn't bad at all to do.. (it's not a series of like 8238348 essays) 😛

No supplemental e-mail received here either, and I submitted back at the end of July.

Sigh.

I received the supplemental and wow! It took me less than 5 min to complete it. Does anyone know when they send out interview invites?

Haha! I was about to say the same. 😍 They weren't kidding when they said it would only take 2 minutes. Only $25 too!

Did anyone receive a confirmation that the supplemental was submitted?
After I paid, I didn't see a confirmation or receive one.

Nope, no confirmation e-mail or anything. But it took me to a page where I could supposedly fill out other applications like the e-mail said, so I'm assuming that everything worked out fine.

If only they could all be that simple.

I think I might try to dig up the old Jefferson thread and see if I can decipher the timing for previous invites. Just had a baby on Tuesday, so we'll see if I have the energy or patience to weed through what is sure to be a lot of nonsense along the way.

I am pretty sure I have read in the past that some interviews took place at the end of October, beginning of November. So, surely invites have to be right around the corner. :xf:

Aw, totally nothing to do with TJU, but Congratulations on the baby!! Hope you're getting enough rest and doing well 🙂

easiest supplemental ever! app complete. good luck everyone!

Thanks Sparkly!!! 😍

How bad it is that I envision pharmacy school being a vacay?

has anyone gotten interview invites yet? they have to be starting soon :xf:

Sigh. Thinking the same thing. Invites have to go out in the next week or two.

Good luck to all and hope to hear from SOMEBODY about something soon!!

I just applied a few days ago so I have a while to wait, esp since I don't even have a PCAT yet... I have a 3.2 GPA from WPI and a 4.0 in my post-Bacc. 2 years as a tech and 4 years as a Naval Officer should help though. I am shooting for an 80 composite, but the Quant section will drag me down. Good luck to everyone!

They sent me some snail mail about my transcript not being in 😕

I guess they want it even though at the time I submitted my PharmCAS, it didn't even have any grades on it. 🙄

Hi Everyone!

I just called them this morning to check if they received everything. The applications are going through their faculty review now.. I'm anxiously awaiting for some feed back.

Did they give you any dates or a time frame?

Nothing. I just called the admissions office to see if all my materials were received (I e-submitted on 8/28 and i did the supplemental in early sept). The secretary said my "credentials are currently being reviewed by the pharmacy admissions committee, and they should be in contact with you shortly." I guess thats somewhat of a good sign

tju must be doing everything later this year 😕

..either that, or no one on the forums is qualified enough haha

Soooo...
No one got anything this week. This is frustrating!

This time last year they were already sending out acceptances. I guess the whole time line has gone out the window.

Sigh.

Still no one with an interview? At this point, I just want SOMEONE...ANYONE to confirm they've scheduled an interview.

Not a peep.

It's seriously weird... Has anyone called?

I've called a few times. The last was last Weds or Thurs, and all they told me was that my application was complete and under review. Also, they said (at that point) no one had been interviewed yet. This is getting frustrating considering I got all my materials in so early in hopes of getting an October interview.

I'm beginning to wonder how long they take to review applications. They told me applications were under review nearly a month ago and that's the last I've heard from them... & it didn't seem like they took this long previous years...

I received the supplemental application yesterday. Just wondering if everyone that applies here gets it or if they already weeded some people out and I made it past the first round? haha

Not to bust your bubble, but everyone gets it. After you submit supplemental, the Adcom panel will probably start weeding out if you don't meet the min. requirements. Good luck! 👍

damn haha thats what i thought, thanks

Defeats the purpose of rolling admissions at this point. My guess is they will start with a Nov. or Dec. deadline next year and do away with rolling admissions.

It's the only thing I can think of.

Defeats the purpose of rolling admissions at this point..

Exactly. Its really frustrating. Will someone volunteer to call tomorrow to see where they're at? I don't want to contact them again and be a pest, but it's kind of absurd that they advertise rolling admissions starting in October, and it's Mid-November and no one has even been invited for an interview. I just want to hear of someone getting an interview...

FYI, tried to call Karen today for an update but she is out of the office, returning tomorrow. I will call tomorrow to see if I can get some info.

I got some snail mail from them today. It was a one page letter saying that my app is complete (as it was since the first week in Sept) and currently being reviewed. It said I would be notified within 3-6 weeks if I'm eligible for an interview. I guess they just plan on cramming all the interviews in Dec/Jan since they've delayed it so long in comparison to other years...at least its finally some correspondence tho

That's good to know....👍

For what it's worth, I got the same letter yesterday. Although, it is dated November 10th. I can't imagine why it would take so long to go from Philly to NYC.

I am glad they are sending some sort of correspondence, but I am really curious as to what is going on that has made them change everything they've done in the past and completely undo the timeline that they gave out during information sessions.

Hopefully, this in no way reflects on the program.
