Spring semester starts back up January 7. But they have payments and stuff due before then, so I feel like there should be staff back in the office already. Anyway, called and left a message today.
Just got an email with subject: "Entering Students additional forms required"

could really use some advice!!! i applied around august time but my letters of rec were not received until september. i had an interview at Baylor on nov 28. this was my only interview. i graduated this december and had planned to study and retake my dat this spring while taking a post bac class (during my interview, they highly recommended taking post bac classes). i did not get in first round so i am hoping for second round acceptance. when i talked to my adviser he did not recommend retaking my dat because there is always a chance i could do worse. he said my gpa (3.55) and dat(AA:19 TS:18 (QR brought me down)) score was average and it could be the fact that i applied so late that i did not get interviews anywhere else. if i do not get in this year, i am going to reapply in may. so basically, if the reason i do not get in this year is only bc i applied late, then retaking my dat isn't worth the risk. but if that is not the reason, then the only thing i can do to improve my application in this short amount of time is re take my dat. one idea i had was to reapply in may, study for my dat until august/sept and if i do not receive interviews by then, i will retake it. when i ran this by my adviser and another adviser at my school, they said that they would take it before i apply again in may but to realize there is a risk. i could really use some advise! please help

I believe historically, SA and Baylor try to fill their entire class early on. Houston fills a little more than half on Dec 1 and goes from there.

Thank you! I am not sure, yet...I accepted Baylor after first round. San Antonio is my hometown, so it's tough for me to be unbiased. But I also really did love Baylor. They are giving two weeks to make the decision. Either way, a spot will show up at SA or Baylor for someone after I choose! 🙂

My UTHSCSA interview was October 1. First round people for SA had until around the 9th I think. First round people for Baylor had until Jan 7.

Historically, Houston is still doing interviews at this time in the application cycle. Now, I cannot speak for them as of this week, but I know they were still doing interviews last week. I saw Dr. P doing one of his tours whenI was checking out of the school. Most like interviews are still happening.
I have an interview at Houston this Tuesday January 22nd, I'm hoping it goes well seeing as Houston is my number one pick!!

Congratulations!! Yeah I agree, Dr. Segura said that there will be several acceptance letter sent out throughtout January and February.

I interviewed with Baylor on Nov 28 and have not recieved a Rejection.anyone know what the deal could be
Maybe they're keeping a limited number of alternates, in case people forfeit deposits and switch schools. Can't be a bad sign.
Same boat as you. Super nervous.
If your GPA is under 3.3, then you need to score a 21+ to have a chance. Even with a 3.5 and 21, my friend still go rejected from all 3. That wanted him to take more upper level science classes and consider a masters. Texas is ultra competitive. My best friend had a 3.9 GPA and 22 on the DAT and Baylor rejected her; Houston and SA accepted her. Baylor is weird and rather unpredictable.

oGPA: 3.67, sGPA: 3.85 (both can go up or down as I'm not finished)
DAT: (AA/TS/RC/PAT) 20/19/19/19 nothing below 18.
100 hours of shadowing at dental clinic
Btw, I'm a biochemistry major, so I'll have plenty of upper level science classes.
Do you think I have a chance at an interview? I'm from Houston, and would love to stay here.

Are you being serious? I come on SDN and see other people's stats and I get depressed... lol
Is a 20 a good enough score for Texas schools? I feel like it's average
you can get in with a 18 AA but it depends on the person
I got an email back from baylor today after asking where they were with the process. They determine if they even need a 2nd round of offer in Feburary. They'll send those out then. After that an alternate list is formed in April.
