Touro-NV Class of 2011!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Ha, I'm rotating with him right now. I guess you are from NYCOM? Would you like for me to pass on the endorsement?

sure! you can tell him the older student in 2010 who wears the AC/DC shirts is singing his teaching praises if you want. he's a tough grader, but fair, and an excellent teacher.

Only two and a half weeks until school starts. Unfortunately about two months ago I had an experimental procedure done, my couch is now permanently fused to my ass. Hopefully I can get this reversed by the time school starts, it would be awkward attending lecture this way🙂. After work all I do is sit around and watch South Park episodes. What is everyone else doing to fill the time before school starts? Please don’t say studying, it will make me feel bad.

I personally have not been studying, there's going to be plenty of time for that. I being a midwest boy have been playing video games and watching the NFL network every night until 5 am (so I can get used to nevada's time zone). Who here is living at allegro? also I heard that there's going to be a party on the 31st.....anyone know anything about this???

I'm pretty much bored, now that I've moved into Henderson....instead of nfl though, I've been watching lots of dodgers games, along with clint eastwood westerns. If anyone plays tennis out there, I'd be willing to hit around. Other than that, I'm broke and bored....actually looking forward to studying something....

no idea about a party but maybe i didn't get invite.

I am also from the Midwest (St Louis) and I like to party. So are upperclassmen invited?

My wife and I will be moving into Allegro on the 4th of August. Yup, not a lot of time to get situated before school starts, thanks to good old PROCRASTINATION🙂. Anyone currently living in Allegro with good/bad reviews?

My wife and I just moved to Allegro 10 days ago. Everybody seems really nice. My kids love the swimming pools. Our building is really quiet. Not a lot of noise. Our neighbors are very friendly. We're very satisfied with Allegro.

Have you seen the South Park episode where Cartman is "Dawg" the bounty hunter? Classic stuff. "I'm gonna need to see your hall pass, bra"

Hilarious, "you just dealt with the dawg bitch, go with Christ bra."

I got a one bedroom apartment at Galleria Palms, excited to move in!

Hi all Touro folks 😀!

I'm looking for a male roommate so if you are still looking for a place to rent then contact me asap!

The place is 4 miles away from campus. It's a nice townhome in a gated community with a large master bedroom attached to a huge master bathroom. The other room is a good size and I'd prefer the smaller one although I'd take either. Rent is only $600 including water/trash, which is a steal for this place! It has a two car garage, study/guest room, washer/dryer, large living room/dining room, patio, and is mostly furnished! 🙂

The owner is a DO who provides shadowing opportunities for Touro students in family practice/urgent care and does multiple medical missions in Latin America.

A little about me; 27, Male, fun, easy going, studious, clean, mature, respectful, from Southern California.

Contact me asap if you're interested or have any further questions about me or the place.

Thanks!
Kieron

Good luck to those still on the waitlist!

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anybody had any idea how much all the equipment/scrubs, etc that we can buy on Monday will cost. My big sib says she doesn't remember exactly how much, but probably around $600. Anyone heard anything else?

Have a great weekend! :hardy:

If you just get the scrubs and dissecting equipment, which is all you need for the first month or so of school, it's about $60. If you decide to buy the opthalmoscope and all the Physical Diagnosis tools, it is around $600. But that stuff can wait (most of it can be borrowed or bought later).

Scrubs are $12 each piece at Walmart, all colors too. Get your equipment on Ebay. You can get $300 diagnostic sets for $120-180. And a Littman Steth that retails for $120 for about $70. See you all Monday 🙂 :scared:

Thanks and thanks. I'm considering Amazon-ing everything. Probably will.
