The average admission % for 2010 was around 78%. I believe the interview can go all over the place. If you think that your involvement is a strong point then make sure you bring it up. These traditional interviews put a lot of power on the shoulders of the interviewee, so you can talk about anything you want really.

OMG are you serious???? So more than half of the admitted people had an average of less than 80?? Wow, that's hard to believe. Did lousie mention any other data that would be useful for us?

I mainly asked her about course requirements, the logistics of acceptances if you don't have all the courses by the end of winter, and the average admission %.

You should look at the picture as a whole. People with the lower average were probably a little more active in terms of their ECs, probably had a very nice LoR and rocked their interview.

Your average is only one part in the grand scheme of things. Its definitely a good place to see if you would cut it in the 4 years, but that is all it indicates. It doesn't show how much dedication you have, what type of a person you are, what would you do for the field itself etc. So yeah... average is just a number, which in the grand scheme of things doesn't mean as much as us, students, would like to think.

I am missing 3...(thermodynamics, Biochem and one Humanities class) but i am taking 2 in the summer and 1 in fall ...hopefully i get an interview....i wish i had an idea of the applicant pool.

I think even U of T wants that you have at least 1 year of full course load (that is from Sept to April, 5 courses each term) but they mentioned in FAQ that its not a REQUIREMENT to apply but if you don't have full one year than your application will be disadvantaged in the final selections. I know it sucks 🙁 basically they want to see that whether you can maintain grades with full course load

You need to take 5 courses per term... But there is allowance for 1 or 2 terms with less than 5 as long as you show clearly defined semesters.

I talked to that guy when he came to my school.

He made it clear that if you have better grades, they are more lenient on your admissions profile. If you have average grades, you need a better admissions profile. So I think the main message was that GPA > the rest of the profile.

My school give out out letter grades too, but my friend who goes to the UW pharmacy school told me that you can always check your gpa at a 4.0 scale- it is a good reflection. I used OMSAS scale myself to calculate my GPA.

I am pretty sure, that the invites will be send by the end of the day tomorrow.
Feb19th-until today, I think it is pretty good time period to review al the applications.
I just want to get over with this wait.

They have two options: they can use the middle of the range or the bottom of the range. Why don't you call them and ask? I'd be interested in finding out too.

I am four credits short. I am taking them all this summer. But from what the admissions department told me is that you are at a disadvantage if you don't have all the prerequisites completed, but if you have a good track record, not to be too concerned. For instance, if your worse mark was say a 75% and you have completed a degree, then they can trust that you won't fail any of the classes when they give you a conditional offer. Thats my view anyways. So I wouldn't be worried if you don't have all the prerequisites....unless you have a poor track record.

reading all these posts makes me excited too (even though i'm not an applicant this year) it makes me think and imagine myself in exactly one year from today 🙄
