Got the email asking for drivers lisences photocopy yesterday! I'm IS, first time applicant. Hoping this is a good sign!
 
Btw I submitted ~sept 20.
 
Have we determined that this is just for IS students? The driver's license that is... I would assume this is just for residency verification purposes as well.

I believe someone said it's for IS applicants only. The email says that it is for in-state tuition and residency verification

I got that email too. This is my second time applying to UGA and I definitely did not get that email last year. Crossing my fingers for all of us!
 
Has any SC applicant that applied via the SREB program received ANY word regarding your residency status?? I have heard nothing!!! I am SO nervous :nailbiting: If you have, when did you send in the forms?
 
Currently an undergrad at UGA. First time applicant. Only applied to UGA. So nervous.

I got the email requesting my driver's license but I think all IS applicants got that.
Also, my status check thing won't let me log in anymore on eLC. 🙁 Anybody else having this problem?

Hey- I had to get in touch with the woman who does the SREB program directly to find out what was going on. Otherwise, they just approve or deny you and send a formal letter to the schools. UGA should also be able to tell you if the recevied the letter or not. Or check your online portal, that should have been updated too I would think.

Crazy! I have applied to 6... and heard nothing, I am anxiously waiting for something! Maybe one day we will be classmates!

Hahaha I'm right there with ya! I've applied to five and heard nothing yet! And yay! Hopefully!!
 
It's already December! That means that potentially next month, we may hear something! If not next month, then thel the after. No, I'm not neurotic at all about this. :scared:

I made a D in physics. I have to retake it and won't be done with both physics by next semester. But I spoke in person with Ms. Mitchell last week who informed me that the adcom had started looking at applications. Good luck guys!

i made a D in ochem 2 my first time and retook it and got a B! good luck to you!
 
I wonder if they start with IS applicants and calling their references first and then move on to OOS?
 
Any another Delaware applicants out there applying to Georgia?

I don't know this to be 100 percent true but I don't think so. Last years thread can give you insight. I was gleaning it awhile ago and it didn't seem that way. I think they weed out people before beginning reference checks.

A little off topic, but does anyone have any suggestions as to where to live in Athens? Right now I like the Orchard, moose club, and the river club. Any more places I should look at?

River club is good, it's affordable and only a mile or so from the vet school. I know kids who ride their bike from there to campus every day. It's also close to the new vet school. Polo club is right across from the new vet school and it is also pretty nice. I liked renting a house instead though. My roomie and I lived in a 3 bedroom house, had our own bathrooms and a yard for the dogs and we paid $420 a peice (about the same as the apartments) and we had a whole house.
 
my husband and i live in a house in 5 points- very close to campus. some of the houses are super nice and obviously for well established families, but there are some cute little ones that are geared toward college kids. if anyone here lives in athens currently, we should meet up for coffee! i am still relatively new to the area and don't know many people here.
 
Spent almost the entire afternoon touring apartments. I really liked the polo club and river club after seeing them.
The only thing that is prolonging my decision is the fact that most of these places only allow one person per bed so my girlfriend and I couldn't split the cost of the room. I guess a house would allow you to have more than one person per bed? I'll do a little more searching today but any more suggestions as to where to live?
 
So I received an email from Georgia asking me to log in to the ecommons in order to check on the status of my application (I guess to show they received all the required materials I sent them) but how do I log in to the ecommons?
 
@jwolf22 your username is your VMCAS ID number. The password is the password that you made up to do the supplemental application. I'm glad I wasn't the only one to get that email.

Using ur VMCAS id and password u used when doing the application all the way back when you submitted! It took me a while to remember mine haha
 
OK so I got in it says they received everything but the transcript. Is that the fall transcript?

Same with mine and that has been added recently so I am going to say yes that's the fall transcripts bc I have been checking that portal like crazy and it's a new update.
 
I had a mild heart attack when I saw an email from them... wonder when they notify people or acceptance/denial? Does anyone know typical dates? February or March?

I've heard around the first week or two of March. I think that's consistent with last years thread too.
 
They sent everyone an email last year before March 1 updating them of their application status. Everyone as far as I understand gets them at the same time, accepted or denied
