I was beginning to think that Doctordes thought she was too good for us SDN'ers. I guess that happens when you turn 25😀 . Don't you think it odd that one of our section directors is Grandpa Munster? What does he know about PID? STDs? or C-sections? I'm totally confused! Happy Mardi Gras or as they say in France Happy Fat Tuesday!

Yeah we haven't heard from our Dr.Des in a while. I am sure she has been busy shopping for a tea cup rat or something!!! 🙂

I'm NEVER too good for my gang! Yeah, I think I agree with Chrissy in that estrogen makes repro a bit easier...hmmm...JEALOUS?!!

Doctordes says now that she is never too good for her gang. But come August when she's basking in the Florida sun she'll say, "who is this Disco Dave guy?" 🙁 Chris is right, Doctordes has the advantage is this section...anybody know where I can get a shot of oxytocin?

What's all this noise up in here? ODB, you are confusing your hormones with your adult beverages again. You better cut back on the "shots of oxytocin" or your liver's gonna look like a pumice stone.

I don't think having more estrogen makes you understand Repro. better. That's like saying that ODB aced Mind, Spirit and Behavior because he has advanced Frotteurism.

Wasn't that delivery video today CRAZY? You know, I once saw an Armenian woman give birth in the back of a cab. A beautiful 8 lb. 12 oz. baby boy named Tonzu. Great kid. We still keep in touch.

One more time...

I have posted about the Riverside Townhomes and there are only 2 units left. Here in the townhomes, we like to try to keep students in the homes, thus I am letting you know...

There are two 2 BR 1 1/2 bath units left. They are 15 minutes from the school, north of the river, and 5 minutes from Barry Rd. (lotsa shopping). The townhomes are three levels- 2 BR's upstairs with a full bath, kitchen, LR, half bath, and dining on the main level, and a full basement downstairs. The two BR townhome rents for $370 a month!!!!! This is a great community full of UHS students and dental students and a wonderful family community as well!

How many stupid procedures can they give us? I am sick of studying stuff like the Brotsky procedure for asscrack prolapse or the Ernst method of varicocele ligation!
 
The Ernst method of varicocele ligation? Bama, why are you studying the male reproductive system? You know better than that....we will spend a whopping three days of lecture at the end of the section to study the pathology, physiology, and clinical aspects of the entire male repro system.:laugh:

Hey guys, i was wondering if any of you knew anything about the PRIMO loan program?? is it hard to get into?? i have been living in missouri all my life, and would like to stay here, preferablly in a more rural setting in fp, so this program looks like a perfect fit for me if i can get into it.

any help at all would be very appreciated.

I don't know anything about PRIMO but I would caution against accepting any loan that "locks" you into a certain field, especially a primary care specialty. I know most of us change our minds almost weekly about what we want to do and we haven't even done our rotations yet. So, you may think that you want to do primary care now but when UHS hammers you with tuition to the tune of 30 G's plus, you might reconsider. Just something to think about.

When I started this arduous journey of medical school applications back in the Fall of '98, getting into Primo was not that difficult. For every year of tuition PRIMO pays, you have to give back a year of service in an underserved area of Missouri. Since I have not looked at the program for a while I think the people to ask are the Financial Aid office here at UHS. I do agree with what BamaAlum wrote.
Now on a different note....
I hope everyone enjoyed Follies as much as I did!!! One week until Disco hits Florida.

I found out that I have forgotten a lot of the basic crap that we learned some time ago. So I have a feeling that I will really know "Can't Stand ya" by the end of break!!

Hey this just in....SIADH will produce a DILUTE urine. Man, this is the second time one of those idiot IM residents from MCI has said something during our End of Life thing that was just totally wrong. Then he looks at me like I'm the ***** b/c I can't understand why 🙄

No, you will have concentrated urine because you will have too much Anti-Diuretic Hormone, so that means you will be retaining fluid. So you will be saving rather than peeing!!!!!

I don't think I'm in Florida anymore.... where did the break go? Bonjour to Doctordes! I picked up my Endocrine Performance (or lack thereof) Report dated from 3/5 today. I learned two things by it...1. I need to turn up the heat in endo physiology b/c I hear that it is heavily tested on boards and 2. I need to pickup my campus mail more than once a month. Bama, UAB BETTER get the job done against the KU Jaybrows, uh, Jayhawks.

We were in the middle of the second page. Totally unacceptable!!

Anyway, I just figured out today that we have exactly 10 weeks until boards!! Oh S*&%! So that means I only have 70 days to learn things that I should have learned in the first two years!

Just thought I would share my anxiety with you all!!

Hey Dudes! France was great...only a couple of them started raggin on Bush so I had to put the smack down, but other than that....it was great!

I realize this is a difficult time for you, but think of well, ME. Having to innocently drive a vehicle to accomplish my activities of daily living and suddently finding myself in the middle of some random, strange porn gesture? How offended do you think I am? I cannot withstand such smut - my clear conscience cannot be tainted!! I must digress. I promised myself I wouldn't cry.

Are anyone else's sinuses shot? I feel like I've somehow paralyzed all smell ability and cilia activity in my nose without ever smoking a cigarette.

Anyone else finding it hard to study for this quiz?? Well I guess for the upcoming week even??

I just think this section is a big waste of time and that we should just get the extra time to study. Then Integrative, then a comprehensive final AFTER the Integrative final. It makes no sense how they have this stuff set up.

Well I guess enough complaining. Just wanted to express my concerns and feelings.........+pity+ +pity+

How can you hate this section??? What other section has taken the time to teach you important stuff like the stages of breast pudding!!! 🙂 I almost fell off my last row seat when I read that outstanding quiz question!!! And can someone tell me where in the world Dr. "There aint' no sunshine when shes gone" went to medical school........ I've decided this section was constructed just to prove that they can in fact write even worse test questions than any other section!!! LD
 
Speaking of Dr. Maya Angelou herself (Mary came up with that one🙂), what was up with her choices? They weren't even grammatically correct phrases - I want to know if she EVER had an english course in her entire dramatic life. What a tool.

Yeah, but we were there fighting, unlike Missouri who was sitting on the fence during The War of Northern Aggression. What a bunch of borderstate pansies! I guess I shouldn't be surprised, after all this is the state that produced the St. Louis Cardinals. It must be sad to lose to the Cubs, the perennial losers of professional sports. Don't even get me started with the Rams. A monkey could coach that team and win the SuperBowl. Unfortunately, their coach isn't a monkey (no offense, Dr. Ballam)

Oh No!!! The ODB and Des have joined forces to take me down!! I'm so scared!! PLEEEASEE. That's like Truman State and Friends University challenging Alabama to game of football, or any sport for that matter. You're right ODB, we haven't won any professional championships. We were too busy dominating the college football landscape for the past 100 years. We're proud to have the best player the Cardinals have ever produced, Ozzie Smith. We've also produced Willie Mays, Hank Aaron and Satchel Paige. Not to mention current players like Tim Hudson, Chris Mohr, Terrance Long and your Cardinals boy, Marlon Anderson(who won the game for you yesterday). So, you two just better face it. The state of Alabama dominates! I only have one thing to say to ODB and Des, Come on, Cletus!! It ain't nothing but a short walk.

Wasn't LSD developed in a Bama lab? That could explain the hallucinations. Bama this Bama that. I'm beginning to wonder if "Bama" is really from Alabama or is he a Tennessee native?... a closet Vols fan, perhaps? Oh Doctordes, Bama does not have a truck to back up only a short bus.
