Leave it to a Yankee to confuse grits with Cream of Wheat. No self-respecting southerner would be caught dead eating that crap! ODB, just be proud that Nelly is from St. Louis and leave the sports and everything else to us better qualified southerners. St. Louis does lead the nation in violent crime, so that is a badge of honor, I guess. I think 12 people were murdered in St. Louis in the time that it took me to type this. Don't worry ODB,there is hope for the Cardinals and the Rams. Phil Mickelson won The Master's yesterday so I guess hell is freezing over.

PS. I'll die before I EVER cheer for the Tennessee VolunQueers.

First of all, Bama, Detroit has overtaken St. Louis in the crime department. We are number two in the nation. It seems we forgot an important piece of Civil War history-the General that kicked the south's A$$ had ties to the lou...Ulysses S. Grant and our 18th president. On other notes of interest....The world's largest brewery is where? St. Louis The world's largest stainless steel structure at 555 feet is where? St. Louis (the Gateway Arch). Not to mention that notables like Harry Caray, John Goodman, Chuck Berry, Tina Turner, etc. etc. were born there.

Since you are obviously a student of history, you know that ole Honest Abe's first choice for general wasn't Grant, but was who? Yeah, that's right Robert E. Lee. I guess it is cool having a second run be from your town. Anyway, we're over that War Of Northern Aggression.

U. S. Grant may have been second choice but last time I checked it was Lee (who was not from Alabama but Virginia) surrendering to Grant at Appomattox Courthouse. It must be nice to have surrendered on his home turf. Don't worry about Des...she's silent but deadly.

Boy, Bama - it's pretty sad that your state sucks so bad you have to refer to times when you weren't even born yet to defend it. Besides, you can't even TOUCH having Nelly from your hometown. Wow, I definitely cannot contribute to this conversation. Dont know much about history, St. Looey or the likes. Kansas pretty much sucks and has no claim to fame. Although I have to agree about the monkey comment made by Bama oh so sneekily!!!!

What's this I hear about Democrat and disliking our W? I don't know about this. I travel thousands of miles to France this spring break to argue with Frenchies about our good president, only to return to the homeland for a fellow Missouri resident to be a Bush-Hater? It's not American to love WWE but hate our pres. What do you have to say for yourself, ODB? 😡 👎

Hey everybody! We were slippin' off the page so I had to bring it up.

I woke up this morning with a huge cervical lymph node. It is really tender and then I discovered that there was a contiguous node enlarged just below it. I don't have a cold, sinusitis or an infection anywhere that I know of. Am I going to die?? What if I have Hodgkin's?? Or NHL??I can hardly turn my neck it hurts so much. Somebody help me!!!!
 
tooth problem?? i thought that large nodes were typically a sign of bacterial infections, and the smaller, but still swollen were signs of viral infections?? im the lowest of the lowly (pre-ms1) so i dont know n e thing yet... hehehe hey maybe you are gonna die... if so can i have your stereo??? hehehehehe

I would say it's highly likely that it's a Pancoast's Tumor. Nothin like a little sympathetic chain ganglia lesion to piss you off around board time, huh? That or T-cell proliferation secondary to waverunner excitement.

K cumb. I just love the way that that sounds. Isn't "UMB bank" in KC also? Wouldn' that be the original KCUMB.

I'll be honest. I'm not happy w/ the change. Why couldn't it just have been named the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine and Biosciences?

We will now be the only DO school without "Osteopathic" in the name. 🙁

I'm bummed. I can't wait to explain to ppl after I graduate how it is that I have a DO degree from a non-DO school. 🙁

Oh well, I have bigger fish to fry right now and for the next months. Good luck studying everyone! :luck:

Yeah I agree with Mary. The new name of our school is very homosexual. Why couldn't it have been Kansas City School of Medicine??? That would make more sense to me.

Boy sure am loving this section. I think I now need about 30 hours in the day just to get the crap done.

Bama, so NHL......I didnt think Southerns played hockey?? I guess if Jamaica can have a bobsled team.......anything is possible.

Well Scrubs is on in like 10 min so I have to get going........all new episode tonight. I think I will start applying for the janitorial sciences so I can be cool like the janitor on Scrubs!!!!!

I think the Integrative Section is getting to you. We do play a little hockey in the South, but in this instance I was referring to NHL as Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. I like the new name. I think it has energy and a more dynamic posture.

I can't believe it.....the ODB and Bama agree on something!!! I called the devil, strangly its 32 degrees down there so the only thing missing from this trifecta of unbelievables is the ODB studying anatomy minutia (which strangly enough happened today as well). The Earth must not be on the right axis or something! I like the new name as well. Although rumor has it that the name that was not chosen by the Board of Trustees was the ODB's School of Manipulative Medicine.

I've decided instead of going through this terrible process of board studying that I am going to retire from medicine and race Waverunners professionally. I think that would be cool. Traveling to exotic tropical locations and letting other racers suck my jetstream! (I know what you are thinking Des, Geez get your mind out of the gutter)

So ready to be done with Integrative. Dr. Ivan is pretty cool. I am learning path which is definitely a plus. Still have lots of work to do though. Anyhow....only one more test and we are done with our second year (granted we pass boards; which we will). Doesn't seem like we began this adventure very long ago.

Man.....ok off to dead stuff!

What up my Board-studying homies? I spent nearly an hour constructing an hour by hour study schedule this morning. It goes all the way up to my USMLE on June 2nd. I need that level of discipline since I tend to be a slacker. I took the online NBME Self-Assessment yesterday. It costs $45, but it is WELL worth it. It has allowed me to tailor my studying to my current weaknesses and also gave me an idea where I would score if I took the USMLE today(Thank goodness I'm not!) I highly recommend it especially if you are taking the USMLE, since it is written by the same folks and very similar questions have been known to show up on the real deal. I am going to take the 2nd one about 3 or 4 days before the USMLE. Anyway, my 2$ (yeah, that's dollars, I overbill)

Des, what's up with the Path review? We've been slacking. Time to get on it, girl. That Wegener's isn't going to study itself. 🙂
 
I know, Bama! Thanks for the advice; I was debating whether or not to take that test. We need to do path, I know - I'll give you a call this week and we'll "get it on."
