how would i access this?

i called yesterday and the lady who answered told me an admission counselor would have to tell me and they would not be able to tell me until thursday
 
You should have been given a login for the status page via e-mail as part of the secondary process. If you never received that information, you should click here to go to the status page login and try clicking "Forgot your password". Enter your AAMC ID number and hopefully you'll be able to get your password. Otherwise, call Admissions and explain the situation to them. Good luck!

scroll up.. no... look two pages back.. no... look 6 pages back.. yet again no... so umm no... not before june.. (sorry I'm annoyed by the question)
 
ack! I should have checked before maintenance. now I have to wait until morning 🙁

Edit: Checked this morning and I have a status change too!

"A final decision was made on your application on . Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."

Judging from the other posts like this, looks like I'm in for good news 🙂. Waiting for the postman to be sure....
 
I thought I was in for bad news when I saw the status change to:
Current Status A final decision was made on your application on 02-26-08. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone.

Thanks to all who have posted what this means!! Now for the mail wait: If it works the way you lovely people say it does, then this makes my first acceptance!!!

I hate to put a damper on everyone's status change updates (congrats guys!!).... but do you guys know if there's any shot at financial aid for OOS students?
I was just granted an interview, and after looking at tuition costs for OOS students, I'm thinking I might cancel the interview (esp since the Chicago campus is full).

is there any way to get scholarships for out of state? This is probly the most expensive school for out of state!
 
hey I have no idea about scholarships sorry but congrats to everyone.. if yall can make it to jaks this weekend... the sdn/uic thing is still happening I believe.. we can help all the recent status changes celebrate!
 
I am a little worried about the out of state tuition thing. Does anyone know anyone who successfully got instate tuition at UIC after a year?

This is my first acceptance and I am sooo excited, but amount of money for tuition is really worrying me.
 
i know its only a status change right now but nobody should worry about not getting the big fat packet!!! i dont think anyone has gotten the status change without getting the white packet....EVERYONE who got the status change relax and just celebrate!!! and congratulations to my future classmates! 😀
 
Could someone answer a question for me?

If anyone had a morning interview at the Chicago campus, could you tell me what time you finished? I think that it goes: interviews, then tour/dean, then finally lunch...?

I interview tomorrow and the weather tonight is supposed to be horrible, snow and freezing rain. So I'm trying to plan.

I was in the afternoon, but in the morning it goes interviews, then talk from the dean, then lunch followed by a quick tour. The afternoon bunch gets interviewed after the tour. Also, I recieved my acceptance packet already. It was a bit unexpected considering my status change was on Tuesday (I live in the western chicago suburbs).

Should be over by 1:30. 2 would be the latest since thats when the afternoon interviews start.
 
I just canceled my interview and withdrew my application. So, hopefully someone else gets my spot. Good luck.
 
Is it absolutely certain that the Chicago campus has been filled? I know people keep saying that, but this site hasnt always been the most accurate.

I just recieved a Rejection letter from UIC. The website showed a status that they have reached a final decision. I interviewed second week of Feb. So i guess its not completely true that you are accepted if there is a status change after interview.

I'm sorry about that...


Looks like from this point forward, they have started rejecting people. People applying next year: take note...the Feb adcom meeting starts rejecting people, so apply early!!!!

if this site hasnt been the most accurate, any definite answer you get here may still not satisfy what you're looking for. Call the adcom office

Did you have the exact message that those that got accepted did? I thought I remember seeing somewhere...maybe last year's thread...that if there was no specific date of the final decision that was a rejection, but a specific date meant an acceptance.

Now I'm worried...good thing I have another acceptance.
 
Does anyone know what "Additional Correspondence" means at the top right of the status webpage under "interview sceduling"? Does that just mean when they sent out the letter?

My "additional correspondence" has the date they sent out my site assignment card (i.e., well after my acceptance). I wouldn't recommend trying to use the "Additional Correspondence" area as a gauge for when you'll receive something. Good luck!
 
Okay, because mine says a final decision was made on 2/26 but then under Additional correspondence it says 2/27. I am just starting to get worried about if this status change means rejection, so I wanted to see if a date for additional correspondence means anything.

rp218...this is an extreme anomaly. I'd call them immediately to get an idea of what you can do to improve your application. This ensures that 1) they didn't make a mistake sending you a rejection letter (obviously you shouldn't SAY "is this a mistake???) and 2) shows what the heck happened with your app.

It's totally crazy that they would reject you right now. It almost doesn't make sense unless you lit your interviewers on fire or they told you it was an accident you got an interview. Why wouldn't they just defer you to May and reject you with everybody else when they reject and waitlist people not accepted throughout the cycle?

Anywho, I guess from now on you can't rest assured that change in status = acceptance, but keeping down the "omg can't wait for mail!!" posts would still be appreciated.
 
I've tried to contact them; however, they informed me that I need to call back on Thursday during the counselor hours to get further information. What I am not sure about is, what the actually letter says.

.....While we regret any disappointment you may feel with regard to your medical school plans, we are sorry to inform you that, after careful review, we will not be able to give your application further consideration."

I feel like that would be a sufficient response for one that didn't obtain an interview already. Hope I can get more answers on Thursday.

Anyone else get the same letter?
 
Did anyone interview in mid february at a campus other than chicago and have their status change already?
 
I may have an issue getting to the shin-dig tonight on time. Would someone who's getting there a little early please get some sort of sign/poster/thing that will help SDN'ers recognize our table? plz k thx. 🙂
 
There is a date of the 27th in my additional correspondance slot and I recieved my accpetance letter on Friday. I was status change on the 26th.

Cool, so maybe they just overwrite that same column when they send your site acceptance card. Thanks, Classic!
 
Got my white packet today 🙂.
So it looks like the majority of status changes are still acceptances, and hopefully the one rejection reported really was a fluke.
