Congrats on being in the top 30! Don't worry, they don't go straight down the list one by one. They can pick and choose who they want to accept off the waitlist. That means #15 can be selected before #2 if #15 can offer UMDNJ-SOM what the other person that withdrew offered them. For example, if the person that dropped out was a 25 year old female living in Cali and had a GPA of 3.5 and MCAT of 30, then admin committee would be looking for someone on the waitlist that is as similar to the one that dropped out. That means your number on the waitlist isn't as important. What's more important is what you can bring to the school. From what I understand, they use the number system cause they look at those higher up first but if the ones higher up aren't similar to the person that dropped out, then they will go further down the waitlist until the find an approach substitute.
