My first post,

Ever since school began, I have been teased for having a unibrow. I feel uncomfortable about having one and I feel like people are constantly staring at it while they are talking to me. This has caused huge self-esteem problems. I’m afraid that having the unibrow might interfere with what I have to say during interviews. I have always wanted to get rid of it but I am embarrassed about people knowing that I have removed it. I’m applying next year and I was contemplating on starting to shave it so I would get used to it come interview time? Should I shave it or should I not?

why not have it removed now?

Wait, let me rephrase: why not have it removed ten years ago?

Don't shave it. Tweeze or have it waxed.

hm.... real men don't wax.

real men use fingers to pluck puny hair one by one

why don't you make it permanent by having a laser hair removal on it? It's cheaper than waxing and it is permanent. It does not hurt because they will numb you first.

I don't want to be seen at one of those clinics..I'm a guy..remember I have major self-esteem problems...

I don't find it really funny..If you had a unibrow you wouldn't really find it funny. It has caused me so many problems. You know who got rejected by every girl at prom?

screw it. rock the uni like a proud man :hardy:
anyone that gives you hell or rejects you for having lushious eyebrows is not someone you should care about associating with

i think having a unibrow permanently would be worse for your self esteem than being seen "in one of those places" one time by people that see similar cases come in daily.

It's funny because you can take care of this issue but you're too proud to walk into a clinic that can offer this relatively simple remedy but only requires you to stop being so...proud or whatever and get it done. Interesting that you don't want to suffer the "humilation" of going to those places, but you can't stand the humiliation of your unibrow.:meanie:

shave it,wax it, pluck it.... a little manscaping here and there and OMG you'll look FABULOUS! 🙄

You don't understand. Even if I did go and get it removed forever..people would know that I did it. It's sort of like a woman getting an implant; she usually doesn't want anyone to know about it. My friends call me "unibrow-man"...what am I going to tell them when they see me without my huge unibrow?

+1 Suck it up and pull off the bandaid for good.

Or you can keep trying to keep it sticking on, but not really well because it got wet in the shower, so now it just kind of pulls off hair and moves out of the way whenever you get close to something covered in bacteria.

Just like a bandaid, see?

So..you'll be made fun of either way, but having it removed would be a better FUTURE investment. I had a friend who had a unibrow and had it removed, the difference didn't cause humiliation, but everyone, men included, commented on how much better he looked. Get it done. Stop being so stubborn. How old are you, 12?

What's the little thing you are supposed to say around here:

'ttipwop' ???

= this thread is pointless without pictures.

You don't need to say anything to them. They will see you and instantly you will look BETTER. They secretly have been dying for you to do something about the unibrow for a long time.

This is nothing like implants. You are simply cutting your hair more or less. Women shave their legs and pits, men need to trim in some places too. You've let this go on long enough. Go take care of it and look 100% better instantly.

What difference does it make? It'll grow back right?

It makes a big difference. If you shave it, you're gonna have a five o' clock shadow between your brows, obvious stubble, and the need to shave every morning thereafter.

If you wax or pluck, you'll have 1-2 weeks with baby smooth skin between your brows, and you can shave or wax again when it eventually grows back.

Think of it this way, say you shave in the morning, head out to school, pick up a girl, take her out for dinner, and when you sit down in front of her at your candle-lit table, she's starting right at a patch of stubble in between your eyes that wasn't there when she said she'd go to dinner.

OR, you can wax the day before your interview, travel, spend all day at the interview, go out with students or interviewees after the day, spend the next day sight-seeing, travel home, crash immediately out of exhaustion, wake up just in time for class the next morning, and head out the door without having to worry that you've got stuble to shave first.

ok..here's a picture that I took a couple of weeks ago

I have guy friends with nose-hairs sticking out, and if they shaved them, I'd know, but I'd still be happy!

If you dropped 150 pounds, everyone would notice, too, but no one would make fun of you for it!

I say laser hair removal, but if you insist no, at least wax it. You're cute... You know, if you'd smile. 😉

lol also my first post, i had to chip in!

i voted for you to shave it off, but you actually wear it well. i'm also nervous about starting this fall, but man, just choose and then follow through with confidence!

Phhhhbt. Troll. I like how you're a member of the unibrow club apparently. Oh well, if there's anyone else out there at least reading who has some overgrown eyebrows, take heed and trim it.

my boyfriend plucks in between the brows-- i say wax/pluck. who cares what people say. 😛

Honestly, do something to get rid of it. If it bothers you this much, then definitely get rid of it. And about your friends; they'll give you crap for getting rid of it. But they'll get over it after a little while (except when it comes out during a drinking game or something). After a few weeks, it'll stop being a big deal and you'll be able to think of yourself as a big, sexy, unibrowless man finally. I think the self-esteem boost more than outweighs the crap that you'll take from your friends.

Yeah, just get rid of it. I don't think it's anymore vain or self-serving than getting a regular haircut or shaving your beard. A uni is just one of those things that sticks out on your face when you're first meeting someone. Our society has decided that unibrows aren't the norm and I don't think there's any shame in conforming a little.

Oh, and wax/pluck. Don't shave. Unibrow stubble is just weird looking.

Hm.... are you nakked in that picture?

why aren't you wearing a shirt if you were just trying to show us your eyebrows?

suspicious... 😉

Ummmm, you guys do realize that this is a troll? He even got his photo from a place called Unibrow Club.

Very amusing thread though. Shaving an unibrow, hah!! 😆

Oh, how the mighty SDN has fallen. I can't believe SOO many people have fallen for the least subtle troll in history.

Seriously guys, do you really need to post in a unibrow troll thread?

Edit:

I give the OP a 2/10 because it is kind of funny haha.

I give the posters a 0/10... I died a little on the inside when I saw people legitimately replying.

hahahahhahahaha

i thought it was legitimate at first too, but then he would post a picture of himself. lol

Comb it back to hide any male pattern baldness.

gross . I think that the interviewer might notice that hair on his head is growing out of the middle of his face.

Just tell the interviewer you have a very very tiny forehead

I'm sorry, but the amount of ludicrous, idiotic, naive and just plain dumb REALISTIC posts have lowered my expectations of what can be real in these forums. I literally have to change gears when I log onto this site vs logging onto a videogame forum. That's how bad it is here.👎

Are you kidding me? Is that even a question? Of course you should keep it, it will distinguish you from many other students, and you will be accepted. They like to accept unique and cool kids, no joke.

all jokes aside, im wondering now if i should start waxing my unibrow...

get rid of the thing, not just for your interview, but for the sake of your life..

i can't believe how many people voted yes!

i voted no because 1) it's you, and 2) if you are going to remove it, you gotta pluck man. shaving it will look really bad in about a day.

i say leave it, but if it really lowers your self-confidence, pluck it a couple of DAYS (not hours, it will be red and irritated) before your interview. make sure to wash your face with a gentle non-drying cleanser (or just water) the next couple of days as well.

Are you related to this guy?

Not only should you keep your unibrow, you should also grow the most disgusting crustache you can manage right before interview time. If you don't look like you belong in super-max for multiple counts of child molestation and public indecency, you haven't done your job.

i call bullshit. pics of the uni-brow or it didn't happen.

Dude.. many guys with hair problems come to "one of those clinics." There is nothing wrong with that. In fact, coming to one of these clinics is better than being seen in a beauty salon for a waxing appointment. Trust me, you will LOVE the results.
