When was the last batch of interviews for you guys? I was one of the last ones to be interviewed on Sunday. We found out after Canada Day...on Monday July 5th.
Last interviews were on the 19th. My bet is on next week sometime.

Why does it take so long to rank the applicants after the interview? Aren't rankings just computed by a formula on the computer?
well, i believe they held the interviews earlier to allow for more time to handle the increased number of applicants in order to disclose acceptance and rejections by a set date
if they sent the emails acceptance/rejection emails a week earlier this year than the last, then it would defeat the purpose of holding the interviews earlier for more time to deliberate
according to the pharmacy online FAQ, it states that they begin sending out acceptance letters within 10 days of the last interview date
also according to their FAQ, it states that selected applicants for an interview will be contacted in late may to mid june, whereas we were contacted in the middle of may
then there is the pink slip that mentions how the decisions will be made by the first week of july
so assuming that everything that they have provided us is true, then the acceptance/rejection emails must be sent on or before July 1st or else at least one piece of information that they gave us regarding the acceptance/rejection email date would be false. also note that July 1st is just 2 business days from July 5th, which was the date for the previous year, meaning that if they are sent on July 1, then they get a full ... 3 extra business days to deliberate?
everything matches up, so i'll place my bet on July 1st
i have to disagree with pharmpig,
1. someone hurry up and call Margaret and Shirley (both of them please) and include your name and student number
2. i'm sure i'm already accepted, but i don't think of them accepting me, it's more.. me accepting them. i've already prepared a speech to congratulate the faculty
3. what if people don't have friends, and cannot afford books or games? how inconsiderate of you!

So who got accepted into U of T? If so, what are your intentions between UBC and U of T? I hear Toronto is really awesome. Like bucket-fulls of awesome.
This is terrible...
Is the Monday prediction based on when last year's emails came out (relative to the last interview date)?
i agree with clonazepamR, UoT is the best pharmacy school in canada
in fact, i heard that UBC is among the worst in North America, that employers actually reject pharmacists who graduated from UBC. not to mention how it's already nearly impossible to find a job in vancouver. tuition is higher at UBC and if you graduate there, you'll just end up in Toronto or elsewhere to find a job. im so jealous of those of you accepted into other pharmacy schools.
by the way, if you didn't get accepted or didn't apply to other pharmacy schools but got accepted at UBC, i recommend that you just reject UBC and try again for the other schools next year, because if you don't, you'll be trapped at UBC, the worst pharmacy school, for the next 4 years... do you really have 4 years to waste? i think not.
Do you speak from personal experience or did you hear about UBC pharmacy graduates being rejected from somewhere?

Hopefully I am not jinxing myself by starting to try and get my finances in order. Moving to Vancouver from out of province is gonna be hella expensive. Not to mention, I lived at home during undergrad so the difference is that much greater. Student loans and lines of credit are boggling my mind!!!

I'm in the same situation!
I live in rez in Van though, but still.
Tuition is double and off campus housing is more expensive than rez at UBC.
That's what I thought, but the online cost calculator on the UBC website (http://www.students.ubc.ca/youbc/va/costs.cfm) actually puts off-campus housing (not at home) as slightly less expensive than living on campus. I dunno how reasonable that prediction is, but sounds to me like it is kinda backwards. Too bad I didn't apply for rez this year because they screw pharmacy students over since we aren't considered "first-entry" students and thus don't get priority for rez. Not to mention, we don't find out til July which I believe is after they make selections for residence. Blargh.
Yeah, I don't really think rez at UofT is an option for me right now. Their rez is also pretty pricey even if there were spots available.
Probably cheaper to live off campus.
Never had a student loan for undergrad either. So I'm gonna have to decide about that. And we have to go to BC obv. And I need to figure out this UTAPS thing and how it works.
Oh man. I hope I just get accepted into UBC on Monday and I don't have to stress.
Does anybody know if the people who get in this year will actually get to have classes in that BRAND NEW, AWESOME building that they're building for pharmaceutical sciences when it opens in 2012? Or will it just be for...research/community/upper levels/other people?
I used all these 3 Study guides for my PCAT!! They are super helpful and allow me to achieve my desired scores within 1 month studying period..
I highly recommend Dr. Collins PCAT Study Guide!! You can ask around, and I guarantee you that everyone will tell you Dr. Collins is the best PCAT prep material on the market !! 👍👍
disagreed!
Have you used it yourself ? !! SUPER HELPFUL from personal experience !! and two other frds.. and from lots of SDNers... 👍👍 TRUE STORY !!😀😀
The Dr Collins is all you really need for the PCAT...I had the Kaplan and Cliffs as well but they are not anywhere near as great as the Dr Collins, I'm sure it's the best package around and well worth the money
There won't be any classes in the new Pharmacy building until Fall 2012. It's little more than the basic structural shell right now. Most of the first year pharmacy classes will be in Wood 2 (It's one of the lecture theaters in the IRC/Woodward library building).Does anybody know if the people who get in this year will actually get to have classes in that BRAND NEW, AWESOME building that they're building for pharmaceutical sciences when it opens in 2012? It should be ready for Fall 2012. It pretty much has to be because there's not enough space in the lab with the increased enrollment without adding evening (6-9pm) or Saturday classes and the faculty is really against doing that if it's at all possible. Given that the building finish date has already been pushed back once, I doubt they would push it back again (it was originally Fall 2011).Thanks for answering, but would it be open for 2nd year classes in September 2012?

Is anybody expecting the email tomorrow? or u think it is too soon?
I really hope that we get to use the new building ASAP and that they don't push back the full opening any later than Fall 2012. At the uni I did my undergrad at they started a new library and a new science/eng type building in my first year, plus they built a few new residences during that time as well. Do you think I got to enjoy any of them in the four years of my degree? Nope. They opened two floors of the library this January only to close them again after the semester ended due to mechanical problems in the rest of the building. I have to the worst luck! So yeah, really hoping I get to experience the joy of having a brand new, shiny building to study in for the majority of this one.
Wow love the confidence of getting in. 👍 Wish u all the luck
