did you also get this generic email stating that you lack too many prereq for them to make an accurate assessment? i have a similar gpa, i understand that many applicants have high gpas, but i don't understand...i only need to take one microeco. best wishes to all of us still waiting

never mind, i got my confirmation.

hey, since colorado doesn't have a supp app, do they ask questions for your pharmcas apps? or just general pharmacy questions?

In the e-mail it gives you the address of the person to verify your date with. Is that the same person that e-mails you in back? I sent mine in yesterday and haven't heard anything yet.

yea same person. he'll respond. i guess 3 days at least.

I am an out of state student from Texas. (3.5gpa) I was accepted to Colorado last year but declined. Out of the 6 interviews I had last year I would say Colorado's was the best. Very relaxed process, professors were nice and I was able to get to know the other interviewing students. Enjoy it!

You only have mircoecon this semester or this coming summer? If your taking prereqs now and will still have to take mircoecon this summer than thats a lot of unknows for the school.

There is a supplemental application but I don't remember it having any questions regarding your reasons for wanting to become a pharmacist.

yea that's what i meant. so i assume they're just gonna go off the pharmcas app.

I already got my bachelor's degree...and have all prereq taken except for microecon (i took macro). i might consider calling them just to see what happened...even though i didn't expect to get an invite.

They have a list of questions they are supposed to ask, and whatever they feel like. I don't think they read your application before hand. They will ask about why you want to be a pharmacist.

My interview is on the 28th.

i am going to be there this week.

how are you guy's going to get to campus from the airport? does anybody know how much the taxi fares are going to cost?....or is there another way i should get to campus?

GOt a rejection email...GL to the rest of you

I'd suggest super shuttle, unless you can share a taxi with another student.

hey patcmd and other current colorado students,

how does the school feel about taking summer classes. i just have human anatomy left as a pre-req and i can only take it in the summer. is that ok? does it factor in during the selection for admission process?

I live in Colorado...I wouldn't recommend taking a taxi from the airport because the airport is actually pretty far east of Denver. Shuttle would be the best. Call the school and see what they recommend.

I don't think it's an issue to take summer classes. I took Microbiology, Calculus, Psychology, and a couple of other general education courses in two summer sessions.

They will allow you to take a class or two over the summer right before you start pharmacy school, but I think they really prefer that people be done at the end of spring semester. I took 3-4 of my prereqs during other summer sessions, and it wasn't an issue.

Isn't there a section for course work planned for summer on pharmcas?

i put that i would take it in spring semester but i couldn't get off the waitlist. now i can't change pharmcas anymore. so should I email them b4 my interview or after?

thanks patcmd

california. but a lot of my family live in aurora, co. so should i mention that so i can get residency status lol

How do you go about getting residency to another state? I've never had to worry about that before.

That may or may not be the case. Residency status depends on a variety of factors including: drivers license, paying taxes, and the like. If you get in, you'll have to fill out a long form and the school will determine your status. If you don't get it the first year, most people can reapply for in state status and get it for their second year.

Did anyone went for an interview today? 2/9/07? If yes? then how was it? what did they ask you?

Ok, so I called the school on Thursday to make sure that my app was still being reviewed, b/c I have not gotten a rejection or invite. They said it was and I should be hearing something soon. This is frustrating b/c I know people have already gotten e-mails. I figure I am just going to be denied b/c I am out of state anyway, but.....just wondering if anyone else is still waiting? 😕

How do you go about getting residency to another state? I've never had to worry about that before.

Pay state taxes in Colorado, reside in the state for about two years, register your car in Colorado, get a colorado driver's license. I'm a student at UCD right now and didn't get residency until I had lived here for three years. I had to fill out a form to gain residency status and was rejected the first time. They want way more than just a driver's license.

Getting residency as an undergrad is much harder than for graduate/professional schools.

I just cancelled my interview for UCHSC. I hope my spot goes to someone else!!

Got the rejection email as well. ~3.0 GPA, out of state (CA)

questions for colorado pharm students, do we even need to prepare for the qualitative quiz part? (bio, math). or was it really easy that you don't have to?
