I just got home from a weekend trip and my letter of acceptance was waiting! It was sent out March 12th, so they sent it out before the last interview even! Woo-hoo in-state tuition!
Congrats Lurkerkat. Are you in-state?
Yup, I also attend University of Colorado at Denver.
I'm from out of state, and I stayed at The Curtis Hotel when I went to interview. The concierge told me that floors 16+ of that Hotel are actually used as dorms for students at the University of Colorado at Denver...is that true?
No clue, I live off campus. The dorms just opened last semester and I don't know anyone who lives in them. Is the Curtis Hotel downtown near the 16th street mall? I want to say there might be dorms in that area.
Hey there,
I will be applying to pharmacy school(s) this summer and I am really interested in going to University of Colorado School of pharmacy. Can you guys tell me what you thought about the school?
Like,
1) how are the facilities
2) the surrounding environment
3) the faculty (are they nice/mean, in between....)
......etc 🙂
Thanks
Yeah that's the one. And speaking of housing, is there student housing for Pharm students at the University of Colorado? Especially since they're moving to that new Aurora site...where's everyone planning to live if they go there?
I don't think there are any dorms planned. My husband and I are planning on buying a house in Parker so I'll have a straight shot up 225 to the campus. All of the interstates are a mess in the morning but I'm planning on waking up early, leaving early, and studying on campus before class. You could live in Aurora but be careful... some of the apartments look liveable but they're slums (I made that mistake when I first moved here). Use apartmentratings.com or I'd be more than happy to let you know if I know about a specific apartment complex. Definitely do not live anywhere near Colfax.

I just had my second interview....😕.
I thought it was harder than the interview at the school. The interviewer wanted to know more about my background. I thought the question was very in dept. It took 30 minutes. I did answer all the question, yet...i am afraid now. I don't know what to think about it. She was nice, but I am still nervous.
If, anyone know....please tell me how they are grading you on the secondary interview process. I am afraid!

I'm sure you did just fine! The interviewer probably had to ask tougher questions just to make sure you can articulate your answers well about all sorts of issues. I honestly don't think what you said actually mattered -- just how you said it. In other words, if you thought the content of your answers was mediocre or even poor, but you were still able to answer using clear language and proper grammar, you probably scored very well.
I know it's hard to do, but just relax and think positvely. Good luck! 🙂
I also just recieved an acceptance, dated 3/12, so just hang in there for those of you still waiting. I'm also an out of state student and had a great interview with the assistant dean. I'm still debating whether or not to go though, so a seat might open up...
Those are similar to my stats! I hope my interview went as well as yours!
Which asst. dean did you interview with?
can the accepted students also state whether they are native speakers or not? just so us "non-native" speakers can see when the first ones get accepted so we can expect the news also?
congrats to those who have gotten in 🙂
Does anyone know if UC will allow you to finish up the prereqs the summer right before starting classes in the fall? Tried looking for this info on their page....couldn't find anything.

I've looked a little bit.. From what I hear, though, they are expensive!!!
I think the Admissions staff love AZ residents. We are taking over! I looked at apartments and found most to be in the 500-700 range. Anyone interested in a roommate?

That dinner celebration sounds really cool. Awesome idea, no wonder you're becoming a pharmacist!
I am worried about getting an acceptance letter. I had my interview on the 28th of February. Colorado is my school of choice and I absolutely loved the campus. I feel my interview went really well since my interviewer told me I sound really dedicated to pharmacy. These are my stats:
Overall GPA 3.78
Science 3.6
Graduated with high honors with Associates in Science
Community Pharmacy experience 2 years
Volunteer at a nursing home, blood drives, adopt a family, united way
President of Phi Theta Kappa
Founding Vice-President of Phi Beta Lambda
Public Relations Chairperson on Student Leadership Council
Member of pre-pharmacy student organization.
doulblehh03...did you hear from them yet? after the 2nd interview?
I called them about the acceptance...and they said we would hear from them by April! That sucks....but I guess we have to wait until all the 2nd interview are overwith. Good luck to u!
So I talked to Debbie @ the school and she said the zip code for the new campus is 80045. Also, she said if you want to be considered an in-state resident for the following year start changing over your drivers license and residency info soon. You have to be a resident for 1 full year to be considered a resident of Colorado.
