Has anyone OOS heard anything yet? I live in SW Missouri, so my letter doesn't have too far to come, but it sounds like IS acceptances went out first. Anxiously awaiting... :scared:

I'm an IS applicant but the address they are sending my letter to is in SE Missouri because that's where I go to school and I haven't gotten mine yet. I'm thinking tomorrow will be the day!
 
Is there an official UIUC CVM C/O 2019 thread for SDN? I know they'll send out a Facebook invitation to our class, but was wondering if it was a thing on SDN. Do they do those? I'm relatively new to SDN.

^Just way too caught up in the happiness today. I don't think it's sunk in quite yet.

It's not too common to have a separate thread for each school's class. There is however a Class of 2019 thread, that's where all SDNers of each class kinda gather
 
Accepted via a small white envelope (freaked me out because small envelopes are not good!). I'm in Chicago (suburbs, since someone was asking). 🙂
 
Still anxiously waiting over here... I'm IS but currently living in Kansas City, so maybe that's why mine hasn't come yet. Keeping my fingers crossed that it comes tomorrow!

I'm in the same boat (though I am in Michigan) So maybe we will get it tomorrow...
 
I am hoping for tomorrow, but I think Monday is more realistic for me ughh. I just don't want to be one of the few who gets the portal update before the actual letter.

I'm tempted to just drive and see if they'd tell me in person! Not really. Maybe.

for me, the wait is only this bad because I feel like I actually have a chance this time around.

I was thinking about writing this in the survey you're asked to take after this whole thing is over. Or they could at least give you the option. Like you get the option of paying $10 more and they use that to ship it with priority mail. I know it's gonna take at least a week for it to get down to Miami. :/

Good idea, make the wait shorter for our fellow pre-vets in the future.
 
Mine is going to take forever D: Maine is so far from Illinois, and there's snow coming today which will probably delay it even more!
 
Hmm time to call and figure out when the portals are being updated!

I feel ya. I live in Boston and I'm constantly dealing with the USPS, UPS, and FedEx delaying EVERYTHING.
 
My problem is my mailman delivers my mail to other people 😕

And i agree let's pester them so they take pity on us!

I will have to agree with them in that opening your acceptance letter is more memorable than checking your status online. However, it's not worth the anxiety of checking your mailbox day after day only to be disappointed. In the event that the portal is updated before I receive the letter, I will still be super excited to get the letter afterwards (assuming I got in of course) but it'll save me the weeks of psychological torture.
 
Yeah at this point I would be happy about the letter whether I knew what jtown said or not..arghh
 
IS..mail just came...no letter! I do not agree with their method to the madness. They say they do it this way to avoid the whiney phone calls as Dr. Foreman stated in the informational session. What do you think is going to happen Monday? I'm going to call! I may be whiney at the time too lol. Is it lost? Did it get delivered to my neighbor by accident? How do I know? I just know I didn't receive it. Perhaps I have been waitlisted. Ok..just let me know! I've been waiting since June last year...isn't that long enough?The excuse for not updating the portal is lame at the very least AND as Felixor put it psychological torture! I'd be just as happy to get an acceptance online as I would opening a letter. Why put us all through this? What about everyone OOS? Don't we all deserve to know at the same time? It seems to me some OOS and maybe IS too, will learn their fate by the portal anyway by the way the mail system is going. So what's the point? I'm done ranting 😕 Good luck everyone. I hope the mail brings you all good news!!
