I have not seen a thread about this term yet! Only for spring and fall. Who else is here with me applying for the summer term?
Preferred campus: San Marcos

Stats:
cGPA: 2.7 (messed up freshman year)
pGPA: 2.88
GRE: 296, 4.0
Observation hours: 1500+ in two different settings - preventative/health and ortho outpatient. Could not get inpatient hours due to COVID :(
Extracurriculars: big brother/big sister program at my university, donating to the local public schools in the Philippines, held a couple chairs in my sorority, pre-PT club, have my NASM cert, my FMS cert, my FRC cert, and close to completing my FMS 2 cert. Lots of personal training under this belt with an emphasis on rehabilitation.

I will be applying for Su 2021 as well! It will be my second time applying but I have greatly strengthened my application since last year however.

cGPA: 2.79
PGPA: 3.15-3.25 (depending on how the three classes I will be taking this fall go)
GRE: 305 (153+152) 4.5 writing
Hours: 4000+ with volunteer experience in memory care retirement living

(Since last application increased GRE from 293 -> 305, increased hours by ~1000, and increased pGPA from 2.79 -> 3.15 currently while working all throughout COVID)
Hope thats enough!

How long did it take you to receive your interview invite? I have a call with my enrollment advisor next Tuesday to go over my application then she will submit it to the admissions board.

How long did it take to hear back from USA after verification of your application? I just submitted my application yesterday and it was verified the same day! It seems that everyone has received a reply quickly.

Hey guys! Update, I was just accepted for summer 21 miami campus!!
Congrats! Did they give you a time frame to accept the offer? Because it seems many other programs will not be holding interviews for a few months and who knows how long after the interviews students will begin hearing about acceptances.

Trying to figure out how this university's admissions work... Can you only apply to one term? Or can you apply to multiple start dates (if you would be open to any start)?

You apply to one term and if that term ends up being full they will waitlist you. You will get the option to stay waitlisted or go ahead and start in the following term.

Did everyone have a virtual interview? How did it go and what type of questions were asked?

Yes It was virtual. I thought It was pretty relaxed. It was first a presentation about the school followed by us being split into groups of 2 students and a faculty member. They asked basic questions like tell us about yourself, why pt, what qualities do you want as a future pt and why, how do you handle stress, situation questions, etc.

Just got my application processed and verified from Arlene at USA Miami campus.

My stats ended up being:
3.24 cumulative GPA
3.71 core GPA
3.74 pre-req GPA

300/4.5AW GRE.

She told me I should expect to hear back from them in a couple weeks about an interview, and 4-6 weeks for an overall decision. She also said that applicants have been hearing back much quicker for this term.

Best of luck to everyone and I hope I can provide good news in the future.

I applied to the fall 2021 cohort because I did not think my application would get verified before the 9/15 deadline but my app was verified within 24hrs... Should I reapply to the summer 2021 cohort to get an earlier response?

You could call arlene and try! I think she can transfer It instead of you applying again. I'd give her a shout to see what you should do.

Is anyone still finishing up some pre-requisites in Fall 2020? I submitted my application around the middle of august, spoke with Brianna at the San Marcos campus, and she said she'd submit my application AFTER I finished this semester (so in Dec) for the summer 2021 term. I feel like that is too late because some people are already receiving interviews and getting accepted! I saw one guy in a pre-PT facebook group was accepted for summer 2021...

I just received an email inviting me to an interview! Interview date is October 2nd

I don't know if this makes a difference but I have one pre-req I still need to fulfill and she was able to push my application forward. However, I don't think its too late because it's mid-September and they're still considering putting some people in the Spring 2021 cohort.

I thought St. Augustine requires a GRE score. I would make sure before you apply!

Hi everyone I sent my application September 15th, it got verified two days after. Im waiting to hear back from the Miami Campus. I was told my application was strong so i went ahead and trusted the advisor.
My stats:
3.5 Pre-Req gpa
3.3 Cum gpa
292 GRE score, I was told Miami Campus is very lenient with the scores and require a 290 to be considered
650 paid hours as a rehab tech working (Neuro, Ortho, and Geriatrics)
100 volunteer hour at the same clinic I work at (Before I got hired)

Hope I am competitive enough to get accepted!

You can only apply to 1 term. however if you think you want to move a term, you can let them know! and they will either hold the application for a year or move it to the desired term!

I hope this helps! Good luck!

Does anybody know if the GRE scores are super scored or they only look at 1 test at a time?

The advisor told me that the verbal and quantitative sections must be from the same test but the writing can be from a different test.

I am still finishing up some pre-reqs and I just received an interview for Miami

I have also received an Interview Invitation for Miami on 10/23.
Took roughly a month for them to send me an interview invite after my application was sent to admissions.

Anyone know how large each cohort is? & If anyone has an idea of how many seats are left?

I still have 2 semesters left to complete pre-reqs (this Fall and next Spring) and I was accepted to the Austin campus a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if it's different bc of the campus, but based on my experience it didn't seem like having outstanding pre-reqs was an issue. Wishing you the best!
