I just got the interview invite!!
Do any of you know if the later interview dates (round 2) are at a disadvantage compared to the round 1 interviewees? Or do they wait till all the interviews are fully done before making any decisions?

so are there only round 1 and round 2 interviews? Dr wilcox my application wasnt being reviewed until all trnascripts came in through the admission office?

@Pharmfall2011, based on what I have heard, it doesnt matter when you have the interview since they make all decisions in march after looking at all the interviewed candidates. it is possible that the round 1 interviews are for the ppl that had high marks in everything of the application. best of luck to you in the interview

I'm not sure if there is only two rounds but they are pretty much a month apart. That's kind of weird. Congrates everyone!!! I'm doing round 2!!!!!

Yeah I thought there was going to be another round earlier in february. I'm doing round 2 also.

I just got the email too! Is it better to go for round one interview or does it not matter at all??

I signed up for first round. Figured do it now, show them how eager I am. But that may just be me.

Got my invite, too! I picked the first round because I want to get it over with. I'd rack up too much nervousness waiting an extra month.

I GOT AN INTERVIEW!!!!
SOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀

I wonder how many people they interview/accept though. Scaryyy.

Still super happy. Must celebrate... 😀

So about this small photo we're supposed to bring... are there any rules we should know about? This is the first interview where I've been asked to do that, so I'm a bit unsure what the "code" might be if there is one. I mean obviously that one of me doing a keg stand at that one party would not be appropriate, but am I supposed to be wearing my business suit or pick one taken from the chest up? Things of that nature.

I was going to bring a passport style photo. Maybe that would be incorrect. Wonder if anyone from previous years has any suggestions.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Head shot with a neutral background, but while wearing something professional.

Hey everyone,

I'm actually a current P1 at UT, so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. For the picture I brought for my interview last year, I used my senior picture from high school. They ask for the pictures to help remember you during the adcom meetings. So, pick one that will leave a good impression on them. Good luck, everyone, and I hope to meet you at one of the interview sessions!

Woo Hoo...
Just got my UT invite too!! I have to choose round 2 since Jan 28 clash with my UH interview...
The interview is a 2 days process?!?!?!?!

I don't believe it is a 2 day process; it hasn't been in the past. UT's interview process is one of the least strenuous in terms of activity; it consists of your interview, a tour of the building, and a Q&A session.

Does it matter if you go for the first or second round of interviews? Or do all acceptances get sent in March

Longhorn Rxpert are there are any other rounds besides round 1 and 2? or these are just it

Woo Hoo! I just got an email too and got invited for either the 1st round or the 2nd round of interviews! 😍

I'm probably going to pick the first round of interviews or else I'll be so nervous waiting an entire month over-preparing and be in a nervous wreck when I come in!

Hopefully I get to stay a longhorn! 🙂

I'm not sure what kind of picture I need to bring with me though. Does it have to be a certain size?

YAY!!!!! I got an interview invite too!!!! I'm so excited. Probably going with the first round but there is like NO flights available ):
Whatever it takes!!

I am in so disblief!!!! I got an interview too!!!!! Is UT rolling basis? I want to do round two in that case...

I selected the very first interview on the very first day.

Congratz to all the people that got interview invites!

I am currently a P1 at the UTCOP and will be one of the people helping out during the first round of interviews next week. If you have any questions or concerns I'll be happy to address them. Good luck and see yall next week!

Based on what they've told us, in terms of us volunteering, there seem to be only two rounds of interviews. The one next week and the one at the end of February.

Is it true that they view every applicant before they make a single decision in March? Is there an advantageous time to schedule an interview?

I did my interview at the very last time slot on the very last day of the 3rd interview round last year and still received an acceptance in March. They let you choose the interview rounds to make it easier on your scheduling. There really is no "advantageous" time besides the one that you can fit into your schedule. I chose the last interview last year because of my test schedule and to give myself some time to prep.

so if we didn't get an invite, it's basically a rejection since they do not give out any more after yesterday?

For the current pharmacy students, does anybody know which faculty are participating in the interview process? Does Dr. Wilcox do most of them?

To the best of my knowledge, Dr. Wilcox is in charge of the process, but is not an interviewer. I also do not know the specific faculty that are interviewing, but in the past there have been a handful of P1 professors that interviewed, including Dr. Morriset and Arlyn Kloesel.

In the past, did they give you open availability to all three interview dates? And what interview slot did you choose?

If you choose an earlier date, do you still receive notification of acceptance/rejection at the same time as those who interview later?

so will the admissions office also be sending interview offers this week and the next week. or are they all final?

Thats what I'm wondering. My college kept sending the wrong transcript and so it didn't show up on my application status even after I hand delivered it. So I just cleared up the whole situation yesterday and my application just went in. Anyone have any idea how long it might take? When does the does the first round start?

The first round of interviews start next Friday on the 28th. I am not positive whether they are still considering applicants. The best advice I can give is to wait until Monday to see what happens. Since it seems like they sent out invites very late Friday night, there may be a possibility that more applicants are being considered. At the very least, you can try calling the admissions office to ask about your status on Monday.

I've been talking with Mary Grigsby for the last week because of the transcript trouble and she sent me an email almost as soon as I dropped off the transcript yesterday that my application was now "complete and on time." And that was around 2 yesterday. I don't think they'd review applications over the weekend, would they? At any rate, I'm going to try not to worry until about Wednesday next week.

No, they do not review applications over the weekend. Normally, the review is Thursday, the day before invites are sent out. I am not certain about this year though, since it seems they were still reviewing applications on Friday.

Wow...congrats to people who got invite!

I just found out invitations were already out...I have checked emails everyday so many times since Thursday... Nothing so far!

GPA : 4.0 (finished every class except Genetics)
PCAT : 92
foreign bachleor and master's degree
volunteering at a hospital pharmacy
some activities like tutoring and volunteering but not much...

I thought I would get invite at least...
Is there any possiblity that I get invitation later?
Oh my...........😱

Congrats! Me too. Good luck with the interviews!

Congrats to those of you who got invites - that's half the battle!

1. There are generally 3 rounds of interviews, but there will only be two rounds this year (due to scheduling conflicts for interviewers).

2. bring a simple picture - one that just shows your face. neutral background is good, and nothing that shows a lot of skin. The purpose of the picture is purely for the admissions committee to remember a face with the paper applicant.

3. it makes absolutely no difference which round, day or time you decide to interview.

I was wondering if there are examples of previous year's applicant interview questions. I've been searching to get an idea of what the format for the interview will be like.

For the current pharmacy students, does anybody know which faculty are participating in the interview process? Does Dr. Wilcox do most of them?

They also have alumni who are involved in the college participate in interviews. My interviewer was a UT Pharmacy school alumni.

When they ask you an interview question, do they want you to chose a side and defend it? Do they not like it if you are middle road?

so if we didnt receive an invite is it safe to assume we're not being considered for an interview?

I'm going to wait till next week. They were sent out pretty late so they might be sent out Monday morning too. Hopefully.

yeah same here. not trying to scare anybody here if they're also hoping for interview invites. they invite 250 ppl so im guessing there might be more this week.

What do the interviewers have with them during the interview? Do they have your resume, or your essays, or both? Just wondering if they will already know what leadership experience I've had, etc.

See an earlier post of mine, which details how the interview works. Its on page 4.

"When they ask you an interview question, do they want you to chose a side and defend it? Do they not like it if you are middle road?"

Its ok to pick a side, and its also ok to be neutral. However, whether you're right, left, or neutral, you have to explain WHY. The point of the questions are to make sure you have some knowledge of pharmacy practice and you are able to think quickly about ethical issues.

^^Thank you. I'm so nervous about the interview. I'm worried I'm going to choke up or not know what to say.

I contacted Dr. Wilcox, and he said that if you did not receive an invitation on Friday, then you were not selected for an interview.

... 🙁
