Such a sigh of relief... feels like the a mountain has been lifted off my shoulders 🙂 So excited for the next things to follow. Good luck everyone 🙂

And now it's time to go back to studying for tomorrow exam, finally I can focus on my work.

Who did you get this info from.. and I'm guessing there's a lot of overlap between U of T and Waterloo applicants because their pre-reqs are more similar now.

Well when I called Louise to ask a question about my application status (particularly RL) she said that there were more than 600 applicants and that is why they were a bit late at replying e-mails and such. I was very surprised to be honest! That's a lot of people!!! And ya you might be right about the similarities, but U of T requires PCAT.

geez...that is A LOT of applicants, but then again UW requires courses that uoft doesn't such as genetics and microbio, so hopefully there are applicants without the completed pre-reqs...

Actually if you look at it, waterloo admits 120 students out of about 600ish whereas, toronto admits 240 from just more than 1000 applicants (in previous years). So the odds for getting in end up being relatively the same. Also, I can't remember where but I read somewhere that waterloo interview 240 applicants so if you make it to the interview portion you should technically have a 50% chance of getting in.
Anyhow, there is no point in worrying now, the application is in and all you have to do now is pray for an interview and try your best 🙂

I, too, feel like my chances are low because although most of my grades are As and A+s, I have one C, one B and one B+ that may put me at a disadvantage, but there's nothing I can do about it - we gotta apply and see where our applications take us, right?


(btw, if anyone knows or heard of anything regarding how serious UW looks at each individual grade, please let me know lol)

actually, I have heard that Waterloo does not put as much emphasis on marks. So based on this, I would say don't worry and keep being optimistic and positive (as you have always been) 👍😀👍

Yes from the applicant numbers (the one you get once the application is submitted) that people stated in this forum, I am predicting that it is just above 600 for this cycle but I could be wrong. And ya I totally agree with you, your acceptance does depend on your performance/grades 🙂

I also feel the same way, but if the majority of applicants are missing a course,then I would assume they wouldn't be that strict. Let's hope for the best and cross our fingers

hahaha I think all of this 'waiting to hear back about interview invites' situation has really gotten to me, because yesterday I had a dream I was taking a tour of the pharmacy school building at waterloo and it was really gorgeous!!

In my opinion, the disadvantage of missing a course depends on 1. how many courses you are missing, 2. when you plan on finishing the course(s), and 3. which courses you are missing (if it is a more significant course, like the sciences, or if it is a humanities elective). I believe some people have been admitted before with missing up to 2 courses (they do not look at applicants who are missing 3+ missing courses).

Note: Missing a course means you are NOT taking it right now and have not taken it before.

Someone who completed ALL the pre-reqs was conscientious enough to plan ahead and take those classes, ensured they met all the requirements, etc. It would be unfair for someone missing pre-reqs to be treated equally to someone who followed the instructions and completed all of them.

I agree with your logic. And now that the school has been around for 4 years, everyone should've been well-aware of the prerequisites by now and planned accordingly to get them done before applying... That said, I'm not trying to say those who are missing a course are not deserving or what ever!

It's interesting because I was just thinking about getting a tour of the school soon... but I found out that they don't offer tours AND the interviews won't take place in the pharmacy building... so I would be pretty bumped to see my school for the first time on the first day of classes 🙁

I may be wrong, but I think the option of applying in november was also given the previous year.

But yeah for sure, it's not guaranteed that this will be an option this year as well. But it seems that spots were extremely limited for this option.

that would be a tough decision...i'm personally leaning a BIT towards waterloo because of the co-op program as well as the fact that it starts in January. I want the time off to do some traveling. On the other hand it would be a lot easier to live in Toronto, cheaper as well as I could live at home. So it would be a tough decision for me...but I'd be ecstatic if I were to get offers from both schools!
