UoP School of Dentistry Class of 2024* Interview/Acceptance Thread

Is there anything I can do at this moment in time to increase my chances of receiving an interview?
I have already submitted the recent supplemental form and a letter of interest and shadowing hours.

I am in the same situation. I think we just have to wait and see when they will review our apps.

Do they respond well to letters of interest? I was considering sending one myself too.

Is anyone willing to provide an example of the letter of interest they sent in? PM me!

Hi! Does anyone know if the class is full/almost full?
I messaged someone on FB who commented the class is NOT full and she said:

I follow @dugoni_admissions on Instagram, and that’s run by Stan Constantino, aka dean of admissions and diversity at Dugoni
And he would always post how the class isn’t full; he posted that even on December 15th!

So my interview date was February 1st and 2nd! Then my friend got a call for a UOP interview February 12th. Her interview is March 1st and 2nd! When they called her, she asked if the class is filled up and Stan said not yet but it’s hard to tell with ongoing interviews and people putting down deposits or not

So I would say post-December interview chance? Definitely higher than most schools! But I would call, reach out, email etc and ask for a status update on your application. Try to remind them you exist!!

dang you got the inside scoop; i just messaged the IG account and it's a general account run by staff but i'm sure there's some truth to things.

Congrats on your interview! During my interview last week, Stan said that the class is still not full. He said that they also have an alternate list and a waitlist.

Also, for anyone who had a post-December interview, how long did it take after your interview to hear back?

Curious too when we'll hear back! Almost had a heart attack when I saw an email from Dugoni today but it was just a thank you video for interviewing LOOL

Haha! me too i was thinking it was like thanks for interviewing but no ❤️. But thank god it was just saying thank you only. I did ask admissions and she said 2-3 weeks but just curious to see how long it is taking other people

LOL omg me too! Since I knew that they call when sending out offers, my heart dropped to my stomach thinking it was a rejection or waitlist haha. My interviewers said about two weeks though!

do you guys think i have a chance to get an interview with 3.7 GPA and 20AA? i noticed that most ppl here have 22AA. has anyone heard of an applicant getting in with lower DAT?

Considering 20 AA is in the 5th percentile at UoP, only <5% of admitted applicants have a lower DAT.

With that being said, it’s certainly possible. For every 26-28 you see getting in I’m sure there’s also an individual with an 18 or 19 (regression to the mean of 22.2). But those scores would be considered outliers

long answer to say, yes it’s possible but not likely.

So for UoP, DAT is the most important factor?

yeah, in my opinion. They appear less selective with GPA and will admit many people with 3.2-3.4 if they have a strong DAT.

I see. I heard/seen that before, actually. My DAT definitely not up there lol. I wonder if they’re sending out rejections as they go or just waiting.

How easy is it to specialize out of UOP? I know they are exceptional in training General Dentists, but I also do not want to limit myself.

Has anyone else received rejection letters or anything else?
