Man wouldn't you know too that I have the Mids watch the night before I could get the call...I guess I will just go to sleep tomorrow with my phone taped to my head  I checked out the class thread and it seems like calls go out in the afternoon...has that been everyone's experience?
Yea, I got mine around 1300 from CDR Dr. Calloway

i got mine like 10-1030 CST. At least you get to sleep tomorrow cali, i'm working until 4am and have to be somewhere at 8.......lame

has anyone gotten a call from someone other than Dr. Calloway?

haha, "you want to be a military physician? Forget the place that will best prepare you for a career in milmed, give you full benefits, still not pay tuition, and make triple the money......GO for HPSP!!!!"

Did "SFC Joe Recruiter" give you a reason? I'll bet, for someone in your position dwb, it was more than laughable. "Help my career? Screw your future." Something along those lines?

The recruiter that was trying to sell me on HPSP started stressing that I wouldn't have to go to school in a uniform if I took the scholarship. I almost laughed in his face when he made that point.

Yeah so admissions just said that acceptance calls won't be going out until the 22nd because today is an interview day...that would have been great to know six hours ago when I began staring at my phone and begging it to ring.

no kidding. thanks for the info. did they happen to mention how are along they are? (done with the Nov interviewees, or just getting started?)

and this officially debunks the theory that they only make calls on the 1st/15th. So it could come anytime!

Isn't next Thursday 1/22 also an interview day?

thanks for that update Mcaliboy. You probably saved a couple weeks of life off my top end.

What doesn't make any sense to me is why they just don't do the calls tomorrow. Why wait a week and then have to do more calls a week later on the 1st?!

Weird, I got my call on a day they were interviewing. Sorry you guys have to wait another week though.

hey guys...interviewed usuhs on nov. 6....i was actually told last week calls would be made today, but guess not....thanks for keeping me sane over the past weeks lol

Hello friends, I have an interview on 2/12. Where can I find others who have it on the same day? Also, Can someone give an opinion on what are my chances for my acceptance since my interview is late. Thanks 🙂

for the benefit of those applying this coming cycle, and even those in the current cycle, could those accepted, waitlisted, etc post their gpa, mcat and experience. Thanks

i think people have generally done so. You just have to read through the thread.

good time to start piecing together uniform items/breaking in boots? Any thoughts? Cause it seems like this stuff is going to add up fast.....Especially if you're going to buy 3-4 sets of everyday uniforms....ACUs in my case.

Also, from what I've read it seems like it would be pointless for us to purchase class A's since the transition to the ASU has already started. Does that sound right? Or will we need class a's anyway?

Here would be the place. Alternatively you will see them when you get there. (thought that doesn't help for your question)

Oh and yes you are at a disadvantage for going strait through to acceptance since you are interviewing late. The good news is that the waitlist typically has a lot of movement. The bad news is that this seems to be an exceptionally busy application year. (so who knows)

Just for everyone's SA, the admissions office will be closed on Monday and Tuesday for the MLK holiday, so calls probably won't go out until Wednesday or Thursday. Why they aren't making them today is beyond me...

Everyone relax, I interviewed 10/2 and still have not heard back...🙄

You'll need class A's The wear out date isn't until the 4th quarter of 2014, ASU uniform items won't even be available until August and they will likely be scarce for awhile thereafter. When ACU's were introduced it took a good year til they were available widely in clothing and sales. With the green class A still authorized until 2014 I wouldn't be surprised if our class wears them the entire time but you will certainly need them for next year.

On the rest of your uniform materials, remember that you will get your one time clothing allowance when you commission for budgeting purposes. It won't be nearly enough but its at least something. I wouldn't worry about breaking in your boots too much, the new tan boots aren't nearly as rigid as when we were wearing all leather ones. And lets be honest you're not going to Ranger school and rucking for three weeks in the woods with 80 lbs on your back. There is a "road march" at OBC that consisted of a 3 mile walk at your own pace with only an LBV on, it may have changed a little but I doubt it especially in your class of mostly med students. Hope that helped some

Monday is certainly for MLK but Tuesday? Does the government take inauguration day off? Or is USUHS just weird and likes to take two days for one day holidays?

Touche, as far as boots

I too was wondering about that issue. Thanks for asking. Too bad we have to make that purchase I was hoping to save a little cash. Oh well.

I have learned to take everything I hear from the admissions office with a grain of salt, but the lady I spoke w/ specifically mentioned how it was a four-day weekend. Anything to extend the waiting!

I think another thing to remember is that I'm pretty sure that USU sets aside a certain number of Navy acceptances to the USNA kids, who didn't interview until mid-December. I don't know how many interviewed, but 6-8 slots out of 50 wouldn't be unreasonable.

It's true. Every year at USNA there are at most 15-16 Medical Corps selectees, all of whom interview and are uniformly accepted at USUHS. Not all of them decide to go there, however, but the spots are generally reserved for them. From my class, there were 12 MC selectees, and ended up 9 going to USUHS. The Midshipmen tend to interview starting very late in September, and I can remember one classmate interviewing very close to the Christmas holiday.

Just got the call like 10 minutes ago, Navy!!!! I'm definitely gonna go

Just got the call too. Conditional acceptance Navy, pending security clearance. Super stoked!

What is going on?! On a Saturday? When were your interview dates? Are you prior/academy?

Dude I knew that USUHS would throw the final curveball! I should have seen this coming, because I got the initial interview call from CDR Calloway on a Saturday, and now acceptances are going out on the weekend! Anyway I'm an active duty sub O, graduated USNA in 2001. I definitely think my extracurriculars/experiences helped me out, because my GPA was a little low. Good luck everyone and keep the faith!

I interviewed 10.2 and I am not prior. It took a long time because they were waiting for my grades

Sweet, congrats all! Are you guys on the east coast? Im on the west, it's about 9am. Keepingmy fingers crossed! (although I interviewed later 11/20).

Yes i am on the eastcoast

No call = bad for Nov. 6th interviewees?

I wouldn't be too worried about it if you dont get one.

and also congrats to those that did get called today....see you in august

I've been holding my phone for the last 30 minutes since I read the first acceptance post and hitting the refresh button about 50 times. I hope we hear today. I'm really going crazy waiting to find out.

Got the call about an hour ago, and have been calling everyone I know! Interviewed 10/30, active duty E4 Army. I am so happy!

I'd bet all the airforce spots are full, just because there are fewer spots to begin with. Also, just to verify - no one who interviewed in November has heard anything yet, right?

Hopefully is the key word there. With the way things are going right now, your guess is as good as mine. My prediction is Sunday morning on February 22nd.

Congrats to everyone who heard today! We're going to have an awesome class. And good luck to those still waiting.

My recruiter (a senior chief) said he would commission me. Maybe that sheds some light on the situation.

whtlight2121, the commissioning official must be an active duty officer or a retired officer. Go talk to the next officer in the senior chief's chain of command (i.e. the XO or CO of the Navy recruiting station; or for that matter, any officer in the nearest armed forces recruiting station or college ROTC).

Does anyone have any insight on the steps for getting (Navy) commissioning documents and USUHS reporting/PCS orders ready?

I think USUHS takes care of all that after May 15th. I'd contact Rebecca Patterson just to make sure though. Let us know what you find out though.

If DrMedal doesn't get in, I'll eat my hat! I would think that you're the type of applicant that they'd be tripping over themselves for.

Good luck. Remember, it's all just a mind game. Our own little SERE training.

chee thanks! I'll eat my hat too! I hope we all get in. The applicants who log on here an engage are just the kind of pro-activeness that milmed could use! I tell you, this kind of comradery is hard to come by in the civilian world . . which is why I want back in the military.
