Have any applicants received any update or general response emails since submission?

Shortly after my application was verified, I received an email stating they had started processing my application!
The week after 8/15 submission I received a general email once..thank you for applying, reminder to pay your supplemental fee if not already done, tentative IS interview dates, yada yada. I haven't received anything else since.

if you're out of state you likely won't hear anything until end of January regarding early acceptances/interview invites. They reach out to in state applicants first though; I think October is when interview invites come out for them?

*UT does give acceptances to a select few applicants without an interview, and those come out the same time as interview invites.

Yes, I'm IS.

I received an email today saying that "some non-resident applicants will receive an invitation to complete a short, self-recorded screening interview to provide additional information". Did anyone else who's OOS receive this email? And have any past applicants done this interview?

all OOS applicants got the same email last cycle, it’s basically an interview waitlist. some people will get invited for interviews without having to do that additional screening. some applicants get accepted without having to interview at all. their selection process is kinda confusing 😭

Does anyone have any advice on how the interviews go? I'm wanting to prep but haven't seen much info on what to expect from the interviewers

IS interview invites went out today! Congrats to all that have been invited to interview, and good luck next week.

Are we expecting IS admissions decisions to follow last year's timeline? It looks like last year emails went out the week after Thanksgiving. I interviewed on the 23rd and am going to be a nervous wreck for the next month just waiting!

Kira pre-interview. Don’t know if this is good or bad based on the email 😬

oos.

EDIT: The email also said "interviews in late January 2026"
I assume it's good. This means out of a pool of applicants you are in another pool being considered for an interview.

at the same time, they said that not getting a Kira does not mean you won't get an interview...

Kira is something they give to applicants that they feel they need a better understanding of before inviting them for the actual interview. If you didn’t get the Kira, it doesn’t mean you won’t get an interview invite. Here’s kinda the breakdown:
if you got Kira you can either:
-get invited for interview
-get rejected
if you didn’t get Kira you can either:
-get invited for interview
-accepted without interview
-get rejected

What kind of questions do they ask in the Kira talent interview?

has anyone OOS heard anything yet? the last email i got was on oct 8 which was basically just a confirmation email

My Kira is due this Saturday so I guess it’s unlikely it’ll be this week

Does anybody have recommendations of a Good online Cell Biology Course that UTCVM will accept?

I emailed admissions last fall and was told that the Cell and Molecular Biology online course through University of California, San Diego Extended Studies meets the requirements for the Cell Bio prerequisite. Highly recommend reaching out and checking with admissions - just in case this has changed for any reason.

They still accept it and I was able to enroll. Thank you!

That's great! Of course! I thought the cell bio class through UCSD was very straightforward and a good overall review of other science courses. As long as you put the time in you should do well!

as decisions start rolling out, please let me know if you have any questions about the program!! i'm loving it so far and would be happy to give you details !!
I will be attending UTCVM in the fall and am super excited! For my birthday this year, I asked for a new stethoscope, but it never occurred to me that some schools give stethoscopes with their white coat ceremonies. Do you happen to know if UT will be? If so, do you know what type? Thanks so much 🙂

UT does give out Littman stethoscopes during your white coat ceremony which is done the weekend prior to the first day of class! I think the Litmann classic III or cardiology IV? i'd have to double check

Perfect, thanks so much!!

Hello! Happy December! Has anyone OOS heard anything? I haven’t since 10/8!

Waiting on an interview invite, or rejection email is so nerve wracking 😅
Early January for OOS applicants seems so close, but also so far.
