This morning on the news (WBIR) it was reported that UTK will increase tuition. The following appeared at the end of the online article:

Despite a 10-percent increase in tuition for students in the College of Veterinary Medicine, leaders say students will actually end up paying less for their education because the college is reducing the number of sessions students need to graduate from nine to eight.

Has anyone heard anything about this decrease from 9 to 8 semesters? Will this start this fall or in 2013?

???? I'm not sure where they got that information from. The only thing I can think of is that they are potentially counting 4th year as only 2 semesters instead of 3? As far as I know, there has been no talk of changing the curriculum. There will still be 6 semesters of classroom work, and a full year of clinical experience.

I agree, I haven't heard anything about the curriculum changing. Interestingly, the other news site for Knoxville, WATE, listed the 10% increase but didn't say anything about the number of semesters being decreased.

In the email we received from the chancellor, he said that tuition would be increased 8% starting fall semester 2012. There was no mention of a change in number of semesters required for graduation.
