What are my chances in getting accepted at UTSW's MD program as a non-traditional student.

  • I am 30 years old
  • Dallas resident since 2003
  • Undergrad overall GPA: 3.67, science GPA: 3.42
  • Graduate school (Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies) GPA: 3.41
  • Volunteering hours: 200
  • ER medical scribe hours 1,500
  • Currently work as a Hospitalist/Critical Care PA in the Dallas area for the last 3.5 years with advanced procedural training (laceration repairs, central/arterial lines, intubations) and ICU management (drips such as vasopressors/sedation, ventilation management, oxygen and ventilation, rapid responses, code blues, etc).
  • Pending MCAT (will take it in January 2026), hoping to score 515+
  • No research experience
Appreciate honest feedback and any constructive criticism to help make me a strong candidate. I do not mind re-applying again if I do not get in during the 2026 Spring cycle.

You can't really know your chances of getting into any specific school. UTSW average stats are 3.9/516, so your chances aren't great at that specific school. You apply to 10-20 places and go wherever you get accepted tbh.

Your stats are good enough to get in somewhere if your MCAT is 510+ but dual apply DO to be safe.
