VCU School of Dentistry Class of 2025 Interview/Acceptance Thread

I have my interview next week and I am a little nervous about the psychomotor skill example... I am pretty mediocre at the guitar but should I still video myself playing? What questions should I anticipate them asking? Any help would be appreciated.

Are you doing your interview in-person? If so, are you taking a video with you?

I brought in a soap carving, and videos/pictures of my art and music but forgot to bring it into the actual interview haha but really it didn't even come up.. they were more interested in my research. You can relax it's pretty chill. They basically said "tell me about yourself" which naturally led into my path to dentistry and research.. just a chill conversation with two people

Does it look bad if we dont bring anything? I'm not tryna bring my instrument...lol
 
Does anyone know what they could possibly mean by "hands-on activity about visual perception?"
Is it for fun or another thing that will be taken into consideration?

From what I understand, It is just a fun activity to see what it would look like to work in the SIM lab.

I don't have your answer but I'm missing the point of your question I think. Do you think they are interviewing a bunch that is "enough" maybe to fill the class and then seeing how things go after that? But if seat deposits aren't due til much later is that tack really getting them anywhere? Would appreciate your elaborating so I have something additional to obsess about! Thanks!

I don't have your answer but I'm missing the point of your question I think, which is similar to one below. Do you think they are interviewing a bunch that is "enough" maybe to fill the class and then seeing how things go after that? But if seat deposits aren't due til much later is that tack really getting them anywhere? Would appreciate your elaborating so I have something additional to obsess about! Thanks!

I heard a few people saying they were done interviewing or sending out interviews for the acceptances that go out on December 15th. So I was wondering if that were true or if anyone else has heard the same. Not stressing just tryna ask for everyone’s intake.

well, there are some dental schools that won't interview during pre-december anymore. I just asked this question to see if anyone has any updates on VCU 🙂

Yes, she was telling me that we’d get emails around 10, and she said they would be calling throughout the day! Congrats to everyone so far! My last name is Adkins, so I would assume that my name was higher on the list? Also, I’m in state. HMU and let’s connect!
 
also accepted! email at 9:10am CT then call from my interviewer 5 mins later - 24aa oos. so excited!
 
A little late, but also accepted at 8:53am EST via phone call and an email later!! Congrats to everyone else who was accepted!!

For those of you accepted on 12/15, CONGRATS! Well done! When is your seat deposit due (for those of us hoping for the second wave)?
 
Does anyone have any information on where things stand with regard to class capacity (IS/OOS) since seats deposits were due on Monday, schedule moving forward for next acceptances, etc.? I know some schools have updated pending applicants the class is full, etc.
