How far ahead of getting into school - should one try to get some experience in the dental field?
What is good exp qualified as anyway?

I would have to say as soon as possible so you can make an educated decision as to whether or not you want to commit to the profession before you get yourself in too deep. Experience is ANYTHING that will give you a glimpse of what dentistry is like (observing or actually working at a dentists office).
