Hi, I just got my second MCAT score back and was hoping for a lot higher. I felt very prepared, but ended up doing worse overall for almost every section. I could really use some advice on if it is worth it to apply this cycle. Thank you in advance!
- cGPA: 3.90 and sGPA: 3.94
- 4/29: 506 (125/126/125/130)
- 7/15: 502 (127/124/125/125) – genuinely don’t know what happened here but devastated by this score
- Pennsylvania
- While male
- Private Liberal Arts
- Volunteer on Neuro ICU floor providing patient comfort and care (100 hours), hospice volunteer (ab 100 hours), and medical assistant in pediatric office (600+ hours and more during my senior year this year)
- Research Internship on lung cancer screening pilot program, undergraduate research (150 hours) on amphipathic molecules as method for drug delivery , plus 400 hours this year for honors research
- Shadowed pediatric orthopedic surgeon, pediatric psychiatrist, neurologist, and electrophysiologist (100 hours total)
- 600+ hours at undergraduate through various programs, including food banks, writing programs for elementary to high school aged students, training future service/therapy dogs, and making matts for homeless out of plastic bags.
- Collegiate soccer player, volleyball club president, band member/manager with friends at school,
- Dean’s list all six semester, academic team for soccer, Biology honor’s society, Neuroscience honor’s society (president), Union League Good Citizenship award
- What are the impacts of the second MCAT score being lower, does that ruin my chances for this cycle? I have all my secondaries prepared was just waiting to press submit for this score hoping it would be higher.
