it would help to convert the scores to the old system too...

Are you taking the DAT three times within a year or two? Give all DAT subscores (both old and new scores converted) of all attempts.

650 hours of shadowing and no employment???

I'm not really a fan of your list. UDM and LMU seem to be your best shot; NYU, be prepared to break your bank. IU, UIC, Mississippi don't take OOS applicants as far as I know, and if they did, your metrics are too low for a serious shot. NEOMED Bitonte is possible if you have a commitment to rural underserved in eastern Ohio, so I think that's out. The Big Ten (Ohio State, Minnesota, and Michigan) seem too out of reach with your metrics. Honestly, you don't have a ton of options unless you have a very strong mission fit, and that's not clear other than your strong activity with your campus organizations. The only school I can think of would be LECOM and any program with a huge class size (Boston, Tufts). I can be corrected. Maybe SIU if you were from Illinois outside Chicago.

i took my dat the first time last year but my score was awful, i retook it in may and even though my score is okay(19 equiv.), my PAT was low so im taking it again june 17.
i wanted to work as an assistant but i was juggling between school and helping my family so the shadowing was done in a course of 3 years but from the dentists ive asked and faculty from other dental schools, they said it was more than common for students to not be assistanta and as long as i had the minimum requirement of shadowing hours that it is fine. I am really involved in my community and centered my personal statement around the experience of seeing patients that speak arabic coming into the dental office i would be in and me acting as the translator which gave them a sense of comfort and stuff like that.
what do you recommend i do/schools i should apply to to help me out or things to touch base on in my application/overall impressions? anything helps (first gen dentist)
