When I check my outlook via outlook web access(owa.med.wayne.edu) on my laptop the class schedule appears an hour earlier. I tried to configure my the Outlook on my computer, Outlook 2003 to gain access to my med school email and it doesn't work. I downloaded the SOM certificate and I make sure I'm connected but when I login it doesn't work.
All I really want to do is to be able to seem my class schedule at the correct time. I thought maybe using Outlook 2003 instead of outlook web access would correct the problem, but I can't even login in to my med school email via Outlook 2003. I emailed the helpdesk but they haven't been much help.
i had the problem where things were not showing up at the right time on outlook web calendar. are you only having this problem from your computer (are the times right if you check it from a school comuter)? if it is only your computer i think it may be that your computer is set to the wrong time zone. double check it is on eastern time. even if you set up outlook to receive wayne mail, the calendar won't automatically transfer to outlook 2003 on your computer.
to configure outlook on your computer:
1. click 'tools' -> 'email accounts'
2. choose 'add a new email account'
3. either choose pop3 or imap (with pop3, your email will not be saved on the web after it is downloaded to outlook on your computer).
4. fill in the info requested: incoming mail server will either be pop.med.wayne.edu or imap.med.wayne.edu depending if you chose pop3 or imap, respectively. If you are mainly using your laptop at home then set the outgoing to the mail server provided by your internet service. If mainly using your laptop at school use smtp.med.wayne.edu... you can also set up 2 diff mail accounts in outlook with diff smtp servers (one for at school, one for at home). user name and password are the same as what you type into to gain access via the web.
After you do this, it should download your email to outlook on your computer. If it doesn't, you may want to bring your computer into scott hall and have them help you out. This isn't going to download the calendar though.
