How long does Wayne State usually take to review your application and offer an interview once it is complete? I'm just curious what this ballpark would be, now that I am finally complete there!! Also, does anyone know if they are a school that sends out bulk rejections, or rejects as they go?

I've been complete for a couple weeks at Wayne State and haven't yet been invited for an interview either. I talked to the admissions people the other day, and they said they only offer interviews for people with an MCAT of 33 and above for the first few months of application season. They do not have rolling admissions, and people may not be invited for an interview for several months (they conduct interviews through March) after completion.

What do you mean by they don't have rolling admissions? Their website says:

"Acceptance notice to regular applicants:
Earliest date: Oct. 24, 2007
Latest date: varies "

Sounds like rolling admissions to me.

I'm just repeating what the admissions counselor announced at the pre-med health conference at Wayne State on Saturday.

Wayne State has rolling admissions. They have set dates where they talk about the applicants, and either waitlist, deny, or accept them. The next date, they generally talk about the people who have interviewed since but do reconsider those that were waitlisted.

Yeah, I don't know, either we were misinformed or they changed it...guess we'll find out around October 24th if people are getting accepted.

They also said that they were receiving a lot more applications this year than most other years and they were trying to keep the class to a maximum of 290 (this year's first class was too big).

Thanks gbiz. Now back to waiting for that interview invite.

How long did you have to wait for a secondary?

I got my secondary 8/6 and my AMCAS was completed around June 30th.

Try not to worry about it. From what I've heard, many people don't get interview invites until late in the application season. I know someone who didn't get an interview until March, and they're now a first year at Wayne State 🙂
