Hi all, just wanted to know for a URM African American female, can I get in to any MD schools ? Mcat 503, GPA 3.7. Great LOR, Loyola undergraduate, over 4 years working as a dialysis technician with underserved population.
Please Help with school list!!!!

You have a very good chance for a MD acceptance if you apply broadly and submit your application in June and complete all your secondaries by July. Schools worth applying to include:
Loyola
Rosalind Franklin
Rush
Medical College Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
St. Louis
Creighton
Quinnipiac
Albany
New York Medical College
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
GW
Georgetown
Tulane
Howard
Morehouse
Meharry
Also apply to all your state public schools where you are a resident.

You got the equivalent of a 26 on the old MCAT. With your GPA, you have about a 75% chance of acceptance.

That means, APPLY! You're fine. Obviously, you might not be able to get your foot in the door at 'top tier' schools, but who cares? As the above poster said, apply broadly: all of your state schools, neighboring state schools, HBCs, and anywhere else where there is a large population of African Americans. The world of medicine needs you!

With a 503 and as an urm, I would have a fair share of top tier schools on your list. Go through last years URM thread and see how people with similar stats performed. I'd say they faired much better than a 75% MD acceptance rate with some big names too. Message them directly and get personal advice - that is really helpful.

Best of luck!! You'll do great!
