What to say in updates?

Hi everyone

I was wondering, how does someone explain an update?

I'm updating a few schools for which I have holds and I'm not really sure how to go about it. I know the information that I am going to be including however, do I start it as

"my name is XYZ, I am an applicant to XYZ School of Medicine. I would like the admissions committee to know that I recently did XYZ, added XYZ hours shadowing, etc."? It has to be in a PDF file so I was just going to type it out on word and convert it to PDF?

Should I tie it back to the school? So like... "i've done XYZ. I know this school focuses on ABC"
