When do most residencies officially start? Thanks!

Officially, July 1st. That's when our contracts go into effect. However, most programs have something that resembles an orientation that starts 1-2 weeks prior to that (so say mid-June). Things to keep in mind...

my number one program says you need to be there on June 18th

Our program starts on June 14 with a 2 week orientation including meeting all faculty, learning the hospital system, and even basic stuff like tying knots, labor, etc.
