When does UF send out acceptance or rejection letters?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

Any rejections yet? I swear this wait is the hardest thing of all.
Two of my O-chem II classmates got accepted over spring break, one to the JAX campus and the other won't know until April(his first choice was Gainesville). The other person in my class that I thought would definitely get in still hasn't gotten his letter yet.

I got my letter March 9th but it was dated February 23rd. Go figure...

Hang in there Michelle, they will see your dedication.

I am an accepted dental student to UF, and my GF has applied to the PharmD program there. Seems like they are spreading out the acceptances over a wide range of time compared to the dental school. She has not heard anything from the school. Is no news good news? Just wondering if anyone has been rejected yet from UF?

when i applied last year, i did not receive my rejection letter until the end of may. many people in my class received their status letters around that same time (ex: accept, reject, wait).

Well that really messes up trying to take summer classes. Registration is April 13. Do I take classes on the assumption I am not getting in or classes on the hopes of getting in? I'm tired. 🙁

do you still have pre-req's left to take for uf or any other school you are waiting to hear from? if so, take them. if not, i would probably register as if you are not accepted, as that will help you to move forward if not accepted. that's what i did last year. i didn't have any pre-req's left, so i registered for classes that would help me complete my BS. i applied to uf again this year, but am honestly not anticipating an acceptance. it's a tough school to get in to- i think primarily due to the high number of applicants. especially the distance sites. don't give up hope... there is still plenty of time to receive an acceptance, but a back-up plan never hurt anyone!! i have quite a few in place for this time around!

It's easier to register now for summer classes and drop them later if you are accepted to UF rather than waiting to hear something and then becoming unable to register because classes are full. 🙂

True, but if I get in to UF then I was going to take microbio this summer to keep in the groove. If I don't get in, then I am taking Physics I & II, and Psychology this summer.

I guess I will just sign up for Physics and Psych and if I get in before the drop date, I'll just drop them.

Thanks for the advice.

don't you need physics 1 and 2 for uf prereqs?

I had to have them, it's on the list of pre-reqs.

Yes, I do. I already have completed PHY 2048 & 2049 w/labs. But UF allows you to take a difference series and replace the entire series. So I am going to take 2053 & 2054 to hopefully increase my gpa for next year's application.

Michelle-

I don't mean to ask you a personal question, but are you going to take 2053/2054 in Gainesville or in Lakeland (I'm assuming thats where you live)? The reason I ask is, if Gainesville, I can SERIOUSLY help you. Also, it might be worth it to register up here anyway (Santa Fe community college) and drive up three times a semester for the exams. Thats all you'll need, trust me. Just a thought. PM me sometime if you want. Hang in there. We're pulling for you,

Mark

Ahh, I see. I was thinking about taking the 2053 & 54 since I had 2048 in 1997. But I figured I'd rather take one hard class, rather than 2 not so hard classes. Mistake, I wish I would have taken the 2 easier ones.

Congratulations! Don't forget to post in the roll call! Was Gainesville your number 1 choice?

Welcome to all of you future Gators.

I recieved my rejection letter from UF, which was no surprise to me since my PCAT scores not good. I am registred to take the PCAT again in June and if I still do horribly I wil have to change my career aspirations. Good luck to the rest of you who applied to UF for the fall :luck: . You guys are still in the running since if you weren't you would have probably recieved a rejection letter right along with me.

When did you recieve the rejection letter?

Thanks.

I recieved it around the beginning of last week.

I just had a scare that UF did not get my PCAT scores from Jan...talk about nervous! For those of us hopeful students, I say those of us who get in should get together before orientation. I still don't have my letter, but I can dream.....

If I get in, I'll buy the first round. 👍
