Infants had a better chance of not getting murdered 50 years ago.
Given that abortion is political kryptonite for Republicans, and that a zygote or even a 6 week fetus isn't a person I'd have to say that more Republican politicians have died on the abortion hill than "infants" ...

You gotta love what America has become... Two political factions fighting with each other

You essentially have conservative nationalists, neocons, true moderates, neoliberals, and democratic socialists. Neocons and neoliberals are gradually on the way out if you look at the relative unpopularity of GWB, Rove, Bolton, Hillary, Biden, Booker etc. Moderates are already extinct if you consider the fact that a Kasich / Jeb / Huntsman / Tim Ryan / Bullock / Schultz ticket probably wouldn't poll more than 0.5%.

I do agree that the USA is ready to try a socialist like Warren as President. I'm not sure it was policy failure by Trump which will cause him to lose this election. His "unlikability" rating is very high and that goes to his behavior as a human being more than policy.

There are many of us in the GOP that do think the national debt is an issue. Our current obligations to USA Citizens are already very high and we lack the money to pay for these existing programs. Taxes need to be raised just to pay for the current social programs on the books. The idea that we will borrow trillions more money (or just print it) to fund even more social programs is ludicrous and irresponsible. Raise taxes and restore the safety nets already in existence.

This lack of responsible government combined with utter disdain for politicians has led us to Donald Trump. Let's not compound the problem by borrowing/printing trillions more by starting even more programs.

The USA has always had a balance between Liberals and Conservatives. I truly hope that even if Warren wins the Presidency, the Congress will stifle the majority of her multi trillion dollar programs:

Liberals believe in government action to achieve equal opportunity and equality for all. It is the duty of the government to alleviate social ills and to protect civil liberties and individual and human rights. Believe the role of the government should be to guarantee that no one is in need. Liberal policies generally emphasize the need for the government to solve problems.

Conservatives believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values and a strong national defense. Believe the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals. Conservative policies generally emphasize empowerment of the individual to solve problems.

Increase in Social Security contributions for the top 2%
A significant part of Warren’s policy agenda includes the expansion of Social Security, which she hopes will be the biggest increase to the retirement program in 50 years.
Warren’s plan intends to give current and future recipients $200 more per month. It would be financed by a 14.8% contribution requirement on individual wages above $250,000 as well as a 14.8% contribution requirement on net investment income for individuals making more than $250,000 and families making more than $400,000.

Conservatives believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values
and a strong national defense. Believe the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals. Conservative policies generally emphasize empowerment of the individual to solve problems.

These are slogans

Unless you’re talking about abortion, immigration, same sex marriage, etc. Then the conservatives want more government intervention and less individual liberty.

Yup, and the Dems believe you should be free to do all those things, but God forbid you want to own a firearm. That’s what drives me nuts about American politics. Neither party makes a lick of sense. They’re both raging hypocrites, and their ideas are completely internally inconsistent.

Some of Trump's personality plays into it, but if he loses it will certainly be on the issues as well. Most Americans do favor universal background checks, preserving SS/medicare/Medicaid instead of trying to privatize them, creating some form of universal basic/catastrophic health coverage, preserving access if needed to safe early term abortion, higher taxes on the ultrawealthy, increasing the minimum wage, preserving legalized same sex marriage and allowing LGBTQ to serve in military, strengthening voting rights and civil rights, an immigration policy that doesnt separate families and lock up children, giving legal status to DACA kids, action on pollution and climate change, free (fair) trade and open markets instead of a trade war, not colluding with Russia or Ukraine or schmoozing with Saudi or NK for personal political or financial gain, strengthening our relationships with NATO allies etc etc

Have you not been reading any of my posts?

1. The majority of Republicans do not want SCOTUS to revisit Roe vs Wade. The majority wants common sense anti-abortion laws like no abortions after 24 weeks unless rape, incest, or health of the mother.

2. Same Sex marriage- Again that issue is now settled law. The vast majority do not want the issue revisited.

3. Immigration- We are a nation of laws. One of the roles of the Federal govt. is to protect our borders. Why is it inconsistent for a Citizen to want his/her govt. to enforce the laws on the books? We do not want a lawless society where parties can pick and choose what laws they will obey.

I see items 1-3 as completely consistent with individual liberty. The "conservatives" have accepted 1 and 2 yet the Dems want to ignore our laws (item 3.)

Clearly you have the Dems talking point down. But, the vast majority of Republicans and Independents want many of the same things.

1. Background checks- agree
2. SS/Medicare/Medicaid- agree
3. Limit Late term abortions- agree
4. Higher taxes- Reluctantly agree due to our deficit. This burden must be shared while being progressive.
5. Immigration- Disagree, we support Legal immigration and a comprehensive deal on the border. Laws in place must be obeyed until new laws are passed. That is how our society is supposed to work.
6. DACA- an illegal executive action by Obama. If one President can use an executive order to create policy then another President (45) can rescind that order. DACA is not legal and Congress must fix this issue.
7. Climate Change- Common sense progress here. Dems want to spend trillions while most Conservatives want to go slowly here so the average family doesn't suffer financially.
8. Free Trade- Agree, but China doesn't trade fairly or free. This goes both ways and the Dems are holding up NAFTA 2.0
9. Trump- You hate him while I just don't like him much. But, most Conservatives don't see collusion warranting impeachment.

We used to be able to find common ground on these issues but the Dems no longer seek compromise. Perhaps, that will change in 2020?

Dems aren’t the only ones ignoring laws.

Maybe the American people want those things but it’s not consistent with laws/policies that are getting passed which infringe upon individual decision making.

1) Abortion- how many TRAP laws and 6 week and "heart beat" bills are getting passed? The SCOTUS is about to hear a case out of LA that would severely limit abortion access to patients. These laws are coming out of Republican states.
2) There are many examples of this administration passing an agenda against lgbtq persons. The first one that comes to mind is getting rid of the protection that hospitals can’t discriminate against lgbtq persons.
3) Of course laws needs to be followed and many administrations have led us to this immigration mess, but this administration in particular has really put policies in place that have severely harmed and even killed people. There is a difference in enforcing laws vs creating policies that are death sentences to people.

I don’t mind people who have the opposite viewpoint as me and definitely don’t expect anyone to change my mind, but I just don’t understand how it seems that with this administration people are so brain washed to think that the president can do no wrong. The policies above infringe on individuals rights. Like he said, he could stand on 5th ave and shoot someone and no one would care. That has definitely proven to be the case.

They are trying to pander to demographics they think will vote for them based on research. It gets the votes but it makes for some serious platform contradictions.

I don't know why you would call them "talking points" when through polling they are things that literally the majority of Americans want, and they are things that materially affect people's lives.

You're also delusional if you think that Democrats have created our current system of obstructionism and do-nothingism. Bipartisanship used to exist to some degree in the 90s and 00s, and that changed with the rise of the Tea Party and the dramatic shift right for Republicans (just look at how centrists Jeb/Kasich were treated in 2016 by the GOP. Dems still managed to nominate HRC who is far, far right of Bernie).

Here is an instructive quote from 2010:

"
Here’s John Boehner, the likely speaker if Republicans take the House, offering his plans for Obama’s agenda: “We're going to do everything — and I mean everything we can do — to kill it, stop it, slow it down, whatever we can.”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell summed up his plan to National Journal: “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”

"

That is how the GOP responded to a milquetoast centrist liberal who cared desperately about compromise being part of his legacy. Don't be disingenuous about dems when Moscow Mitch obstructed for this entire decade and now he still won't bring a single piece of House-passed legislation to the Senate floor unless it has Trump's stamp on it. If Mitch cared about actually passing legislation, he'd bring it to the Senate floor for an up or down vote. Heck, just earlier this year Trump could've gotten $25b for the wall and border security if he was willing to compromise, but he instead he decided to steal money from the DoD for a wall no one wants.

Also, for anyone who doesn't think Trump's behavior is impeachable, I want you to keep your current thinking in mind when there is (and believe me there will be) an unethical democratic president who wants to use the power of the office to extort a foreign country into digging up dirt on his political opponent. Without the whistleblower complaint, the story about the new Ukrainian prosecutor "reviewing" the Bidens would've hit the airwaves without us also knowing that Trump used his secretary of state, attorney general, US ambassador to the EU, and senile personal attorney (as an aside, why in the f*ck is the president's personal attorney negotiating with a foreign govt on behalf of the US) to leverage the Ukrainians into doing so. Never anyone mind that no one here and no one in Ukraine has found any evidence of wrongdoing.

It's also really mind boggling that beyond Ukraine, some of you don't think Trump is capable of giving China a sweetheart deal in the trade war if they were somehow able to dig up dirt on his opponents. It seems like something perfectly in his wheelhouse, especially coming from someone who literally said on TV "Russia, if you're listening....."

No more damn moving expenses, no more damn housing taxes, no more damn mortgage interest. No more damn deductions!!!
Get the jerk out of office damn it!!!
Never mind the fact that he absolutely has no integrity.
I think most of us are in AMT anyways so we never had the SALT deduction to begin with. Mortgage interest deduction still exists and the AMT exemption was (finally) increased. I did better under the new tax law. Also he is the only candidate who is not saying that access to my labor is someone else’s “right” so you can guess how I’m voting.....

Fusion GPS/Papadopalous meeting w/ the ex-British intelligence agent Christopher Steele digging up the fakenews "dirt" from Russian sources is an attempt by the Clintons/Dems to have a foreign entity influence the U.S. election. Would have been completely covered up and unknown had Trump lost. Look in the mirror, lefties. This doesn't even touch on the fact that >85% of the party's policies are pie-in-the sky, unworkable, and detrimental to majority of US citizens.

Hillary should have been prosecuted for her accepting bribes as secretary of state, for her illegal server, and her obstruction of justice (wiped the servers after subpoena).

She wasn't prosecuted for these crimes, in fact she was handled with white gloves, and she wouldn't be prosecuted by the Obama DOJ no matter what the sham investigation showed.

But Trump is fighting against corruption in the FBI, CIA, state department. He's paying the price for it.

Since Trump declared war on the deep state and the deep state reciprocated against Trump, there will be a culmination and conclusion. Who will win? What secret information does Trump have that will change everything in Washington?

It's going to come down to how hard the meme war gets fought on both sides. I have no faith in the ability of the Left to effectively organize and propagandize, unlike the right, which has an enormous army of trolls and propagandists lurking the halls of Reddit, the chans, and other wretched hives of scum and villainy. The Left can't meme, and it might just cost them another election.

Begone with your qanon Trump as God Emperor larping nonsense. Qanon is a psyop by certain fringe bits on the right that are meant to radicalize useful idiots.

I think it's indisputable that Hillary committed felonies, but Comey let her off with an interpretation of the law that was entirely misguided.

I voted Republican pre Trump. Don't care for the religious schtick, the fiscal hypocrisy or the anti science agenda of the current wh occupant.

The GOP is totally irrelevant to me today

I'm more referring to your deep state war grand plan BS
It's indisputable that top FBI officials conspired to get Hillary off, and also prevent Trump from becoming President, but even if he did, that they would have a plan to take him down.

Yeah, you're totally going to vote for a party that embraces socialism, increasing taxation, citizenship for illegal aliens, restriction on free speech, gun confiscation, and wealth confiscation.

You already embrace a party that does plenty of that.

Socialism for the rich and corporations is still socialism #corporatewelfare

Plenty of hypocrisy in the rest of your post also. I notice how you ignored profligate spending considering the modern GOP runs worse deficits than any recent Democrat administration. Can't say I blame you.

The difference is Republicans are running deficits to spur economic growth and protect the USA, while Democrats run deficits to give more welfare benefits and buy votes.

Something, something, teach a man to fish, something, something.

The fact of the matter is that raising taxes and bringing socialism to the USA will destroy the economy.

At least Trump is trying to improve the economy.

Your first statement is incongruent with your second. Trump is destroying the US economy and Obama recovery now with trumponomics.

Worst manufacturing numbers since the great depression. Anemic 2% GDP growth over a year after the (mainly) corporate tax cuts.

You need to put down the MAGA koolaid and start owning what a disaster of a president you support.

Temporary pain for long term gain is the best way to approach the chronic loss of manufacturing to China, and tariffs are the best way to push China to fundamentally change their economic trajectory.

I know you like to take the side of America's enemies, but wishing China continued success is like USSR sympathizers in the 1980s.
