I did not get that email 😳 If it doesn't mean acceptance, you're right that's very misleading, but hopefully it does mean good news for those who got the email!

Also got that email. I was very confused to say the least lol

I did not get that email. I'm taking that as a rejection (hopefully that me overreacting)

A couple years ago those who got the email tended to be accepted. I can’t say for the opposite though (didn’t receive one IS oh well)

Yes! I called the oaa office this morning and they said the email was a mistake and shouldn’t have been sent out and they’re not sure why or how it got sent but they’re looking into it. Just not sure if it was sent to everyone or what.

As a Dad to a Vet school applicant and having shared this process with him, I can say without hesitation that these Vet schools make this process WAY harder than it needs to be for the application process. Vague details. Random confusing emails. Change of process with little to no communication. Seems to me that they are still being ran like the internet and instant communication still do not exist. They all can and should do better! Best of luck to everyone and you have my total respect for going thru this process!

so does that mean that the email doesn't mean anything or it was meant to be sent out to accepted students after decisions were released?

I got the email as well. I called the number and it took a bit for them to pick up. From what I understand, that was just a part of an automated system and status updates should be coming by the end of the month

Unfortunately, I think it was probably accidentally sent, but sent/triggered by IT as they were setting stuff up. I could be totally wrong, but that’s just my gut feeling.

It does really suck to feel like schools just don’t care and get sloppy when people’s hearts and hopes are on the line.

I’m not happy with the level of professionalism from some of these schools.

Didn't get the email, wahoo! I can confidently say a rejection. Phew. Time to move on! 🤩

Say it again for the people in the back!! 👏🏻👏🏻

I did not get the email. If that means a rejection, I’m lowkey devastated 😔. This was the closest vet school to me and I have a lot of close friends living in Madison. I know it’s not for sure but it’s hard to ignore the writing on the wall. Hoping for good news but for the day I am done lol.

I’m hoping they didn’t make the same mistake from 2022 and only those who got the email were accepted because that’s extremely disheartening.

Based off of how many other schools have done this (ie things show up on portals for some students but not others, send random emails that make no sense to some students but not to others), that seems to be the case. They were most likely setting up and activating the accounts of everyone who was accepted and someone forgot to uncheck the "Send Confirmation Email" box.

Obviously, it's not over until it's over. Until you get that email confirming your status, it's not over.

I didn’t get that email, but if you got the email, does it mean that you were accepted, or would waitlisted people also get that email? I was expecting a rejection anyway but trying to stay hopeful..

I’m just so sad. This was my top school. But sadly I was kinda expecting it when I saw how few spots there are for the class.

I’ve been saying “it’s not over until it’s over” and I want to believe it but I’m HIGHkey sad right now that this could possibly mean rejection

And I truly feel for you. This cycle has been so chaotic. Blame it on the uptick in applicants or the general disorganization of things, but it doesn't undermine the fact that this cycle has been the most chaotic and confusing cycle I have had to experience or witness.

I had the same issue with NC state. The day before decisions came out, I got a weird email like I was accepted. Called and they said it was a mistake, following day got my acceptance...

Same thing happened with me with CSU. The morning we received our decisions, a new section popped up on my portal to upload my transcripts.

I hope it’s not like that this time, but looking back at 2022 cycle, people who received the email were accepted. Everyone else was waitlisted or rejected.
