How it feels getting that rejection knowing full well I rambled about cheese for 4 paragraphs on those supplemental essays

Did you get an actual rejection email? I can't figure out why some of these schools stagger them, like I don't think it's anything malicious on their end, I'm just genuinely curious why they choose to do it that way

not officially, but I would assume it's coming in the next 15 min to hour

I have not gotten an rejection email yet, but this is a failed cycle for me I guess....

Looking at last years thread, #90 was accepted off the waitlist at the end of May. Congrats to everyone who was accepted. I’m not trying to wallow in my own self pity but it’s hard! All I’ve gotten this cycle was waitlists. I’m still waiting on 2 more so hopefully good things. A client the other day said its not a rejection but redirection. And I’m trying really hard to remember that right now.

I’m in the exact same position as you rn: all rejections and waitlists so far, and 2 to go after Wisconsin. It’s really hard, but I have hope that we’ll get an acceptance eventually

can they send rejections now please... this is kinda ridiculous
Like literally why does every vet school rollout feel like there is a raccoon assigned to each of us and we get an email when the raccoon decides to press the button.

My Oregon State and CSU raccoons have still not pressed their respective buttons.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Someone told me to think of being on the waitlist as the school wants you but they didn’t have enough seats. I really believe this to be true. Hope you have some movement soon, and good news from your last two schools!

LMAO

Whoever read my app was lactose intolerant
“Cheese has so many lovely qualities, and has been present since the dawn of humanity’s domestication of cows. Cheese represents a sacred partnership, an unadulterated exemplar of our undying bond with animals. This is why I want to be a veterinarian and why I would like to attend Wisconsin.”

THIS IS GETTING TOO CLOSE TO THE TRUTH

funny enough, this is the school i had the least hope for, didn't feel super passionate about and questioned why i applied to it literally every day since i hit submit (nothing wrong with the school! i just didnt do enough research on it prior to submitting and panicked to find an extra school and somehow ended up applying here)

..AND YET! IT HAS CAUSED ME THE MOST STRESS AND FRUSTRATION

“When we consider every type of cheese, from sharp Wisconsin cheddar to the smoothest Brie, we can ultimately see and appreciate the great differences each and every person brings. No matter what you may look or smell like, whether you’re moldy or full of wholes, you have something to offer. I believe that this ideal is upheld when we consider the University of Wisconsin’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Like the many varied cheeses, we all have something of value to offer the world, and veterinary medicine.”

I think this is a very beautiful, and likely accurate, way of seeing it. The line between waitlist and accepted is likely so very arbitrary, coming down to splitting hairs about this or that thing. Achieving the waitlist means that the school acknowledges that they like you and they know you could succeed in their program.

"Cheese is absorptive, much like the human mind. It takes on the flavor of its landscape; it's inseparable from its environment. And how does this translate to vet med? Well, to deal successfully with difficult clients, one must be like cheese and embrace the terroir. Even the highest degrees of salt from a bad yelp review can create a feta or halloumi."

Quite memorable. Which is hard to do against 50000 other essays!
