OOS rejected, got the email at 11, but I already accepted admission to my in state school so my feelings aren't too hurt. Congrats to those who got in!!!

OOS rejected. Was anticipating that anyway. Congrats to all those who got accepted and good luck to the others who are still waiting on other schools

OOS Rejection. Congrats to everyone who got accepted. Remember to keep your heads up high; a no doesn't mean you aren't good enough.

i haven’t fully committed yet but i also paid like $2000 for all these applications (and countless hours writing) i wanted to see where i got in
Hey, I get that.

But, as gently as I can say this, I think maybe a bit of consideration would go a long way here - for those in this application cycle whose dream school was Wisconsin and received bad news today, it is absolutely devastating.

And reading a message from a student who has no intention of considering the school immediately writing off the admission as an instant decline could be hurtful.

It’s fine if you want to continue to see who accepts you, maybe just be more thoughtful with your wording in the future.

Congratulations on your successful application season and I wish you nothing but the best at Cornell!

"Cheese is absorptive, much like the human mind. It takes on the flavor of its landscape; it's inseparable from its environment. And how does this translate to vet med? Well, to deal successfully with difficult clients, one must be like cheese and embrace the terroir. Even the highest degrees of salt from a bad yelp review can create a feta or halloumi."
“When I attended the PA Farm Show as a young Shiloh, I saw an entire statue made from butter, and I thought, “Hey! We could do this with cheese, too!” Years and years searching for the perfect medium led me to Wisconsin, where the sharp, aged cheddars provide a perfect canvas for this budding artist. Unfortunately, I found out that I was lactose intolerant, and turned my life towards a new pursuit: veterinary medicine.”

Respectfully, i am writing that to let that person on the waitlist know that a spot will be open for them.

No worries here (all worries otherwise, at least for me).

I think it’s easy for online stuff to get lost in translation. We’re all out here in the trenches. Best of luck!

I understand that receiving disappointing news can be incredibly difficult, and I am sorry to those who had their hearts set on Wisconsin. However, every applicant has the right to navigate this process in the way that best serves their future.

Just like everyone else in this cycle, we put in years of hard work, countless hours of experience, and dedication to our goals. Choosing not to immediately withdraw from a school does not mean we are taking opportunities away from others—it means we are making informed decisions about where we will spend the next four years of our education. Schools have waitlists for this very reason. I have been accepted to 6 schools, but I am still sitting on them as I want to make sure I make the best decision for myself.

Everyone has different priorities when selecting a school, and just as some people dream of attending one specific program, others have multiple factors to consider. I understand where you are coming from, but everyone has different factors to consider and different things going on in life. I wish everyone the best in finding the right fit for their veterinary education

I wasn’t commenting on holding and considering multiple acceptances, but being fully committed to a school and not rescinding other apps. It sounded from OP’s posts that they had committed to a school, I’ve learned they didn’t, so this is moot, because that’s a different situation.

To all who did not receive the news they hoped for-

This is not the end. It may be the end of your application cycle but rejection is redirection. We are all capable and deserving of becoming veterinarians. I can’t wait for all of us to work together as colleagues in the future.
