WW Child's Play; a noob game

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Good morninggggg...

I'll be around today, but I don't think that I'll be posting as much as I have been. I really, really need to actually study today. Instead of, y'know, spending all day on WW.

Night 3 Results:

We will start out with the most beautiful night that our storybook characters had seen in quite some time. The moon was at a breathtaking low light allowing the stars to shine through wisps of white clouds and softly illuminate the fantastical world below.

The children were feeling good that they had vanquished their nightmares, and most were snuggled safely in their beds, trying to get a good rest in the hopes of clear thinking and another successful day tomorrow.

starchild.jpg

Some children felt the need to go out into the night, which may or may not have been very wise of them. This applied to one child in particular…

He had been having such a blast messing with all the characters in our story. He was most pleased with his latest gag in which he baked a raven into an apple pie and left it for @hazelmoo to eat. She had gotten a beak stuck in her throat and cawed all day long. Such a blast! For some reason, she did not find it very funny though.

4d59474369710437f442ff4ef9c69a55.jpg

The boy was done playing at pranks though. He had been waiting impatiently for night to arrive so he could delve into more destructive forms of behavior. He had “borrowed” a particularly interesting shadow the night before, and was ready to put it to work. He spotted his prey and with malicious intent, began to stalk her.

hqdefault.jpg

He was so intent on her that he completely failed to notice a falter in the shadows, rippling quickly and quietly towards him. Faster and faster it sped until it moved just in front of the boy and…

Let us pause here to preserve some suspense, and move to another part of the night’s actions. As we know there was much pure evil lurking out and about this night, and it had been waiting for this particular child to make the mistake of coming out to play. The girl tra la laa’d about without a care in the world, 'cause she had a fun toy that was guaranteed to be a blast.

She walked through the night without even the slightest inkling that she was being followed. She finally reached her destination, which was at the top of the village’s best hill, and pulled the toy into position. She carefully lowered herself into a comfy position, and…

I feel like that boy who was intent on causing trouble is still on your minds. Well, let’s face it, he was trying to kill an innocent kid just to get his kicks. I believe we had left off with some flickering shadow oddity that had sped past the boy and was unnoticeable again in the rock formation, blending in to perfection. The boy was flying now at top speed about to overcome his victim when he was snatched from the air and some unfortunate things occurred that are really not appropriate to describe for this young audience.

PeterPan-Death_Fischer.gif

We can now turn our attention back to the hilltop, where the girl was focused and preparing for one helluva run. She took a big breath and pushed back and she suddenly felt ill at ease. She snapped her head around to catch sight of whatever was behind her making the hairs' arrector pili work overtime. The darkness seemed to shift towards her but the commotion caused her to lean forward and away she went, zooming down the hill.

PGU6O4E.jpg

The evil that had been about to take her contemplated going after her, but decided it would just try again another day. There was a sense of victory in the air elsewhere and it was curious to see what else had transpired.

So we end Chapter 3 with a tale to be told for the ages. A story about how little boys who get too naughty get what rises from the darkness and eats them. Or something like that. Evil on the other hand, is only growing in strength, and this narrator wonders when the children will wise up. In the meantime, beware monsters who have a face that looks familiar…

HowSRtP.jpg

Dead, for being naughty, is @PrincessButterCup , aka Peter Pan, the boy who could steal shadows and gain any ability that his shadow may have brought with it.

Lynch Deadline 10 PM EST

Noooo. Peter!

PBC was on my list, but a few rungs down, since she'd been so insistent early in the game that she didn't think there would be partners when PMs were banned. Looks like she was Chaos, though, so at least we've held our margins.

She was trying to kill a villager, so it's good timing she's dead (thanks wolfies! tough luck!), but still.....pour one out for the homies.

Most interesting revelations from the write-up:

-If PBC "borrowed" the ability to kill, that means someone still in the game has it. At first I thought she must have "borrowed" from a wolf, but there were still two attempted villager kills tonight. I assume while she's borrowing the ability, it's owner can't use it.

-"Beware monsters who have a face that looks familiar"....thoughts?

-Who had the wagon tonight? And why do you think you were targeted?

I had wagon. I was targeted because of yesterday I think!

**************************
Noooo!

I had such plans. 🙁

**********************************

Hmm....is it possible that Peter did other killings as well?
It says "delve into more destructive forms of behavior", so it sounded to me like this was the first kill attempt. We're consistently losing two villagers every night, and it looks like the wolves had two targets tonight too: Hazel and PBC. Wish we knew who PBC was trying to kill...

Speaking of kill numbers...

We need to be paying attention to how the numbers are starting to stack up. Typically, wolves win when there are an equal number of wolves and villagers.

We started with 23 people. My guess would be we're looking at something like 4-5 wolves. to To be conservative, let's say 5.

So far, the wolves look to be able to kill off 2 villagers every night, if things go their way.

We have 15 players left. One wolf dead. Four wolves (conservatively) left in the game leaves 11 villagers. So we're still up by 7. That gives us some room, but we need to keep an eye on things.

I'm happy with this night, for once. We held our margins, and the wolves got a character who didn't seem to be in our best interest. Let today's rumpus begin!

Okay. I'm being suspicious of others besides SF. So for now unlynch SF. I will need a moment to gather my thoughts though.

Someone needs to go back through and do an analysis of the average ratio of wolves to villagers in SOV games.

Just for the record.... this is more of a LUPIN designed game than an SOV game. I am more of the co-mod here. Lupin did all the heavy lifting, deserves the credit, and if you want to look for patterns look to both of our games, cause of course I had SOME input.

Yeah, good luck with that. Sobsob games are just as similar as the 7 dwarfs are in Snow White (keeping with our fairy tale theme 😛)
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

I am suspicious of a few people right now.
Finnick: where are you? you were last seen not to long ago and you have yet to comment on lsat nights events.
Kam: I don't know why.. but I am suspicious of you. You might be playing a really good game and trying to throw us all off your guard. Idk but it's something to think about...
kcough: where are you?
rocky: .... not sure what to think about rocky still....

the paranoia is definitely setting in.

I tried searching for Lupin games, but only came up with A WW About Nothing. Am I doing something wrong?

wasn't there someone who claimed to be Wendy?

I don't see why you would say that...
- there was the game where everyone was a wolf
- there were the games (2) where there was only one wolf to start.
- there was the game where there were only 2 wolves, but they thought they were villagers.
- there was the game with lots of conversions.
- there was the game with no conversions.
- there were games with 2, 3, 4, even 5 wolves to start.

I see a pattern here.

wasn't there someone who claimed to be Wendy?

I seered kam as Wendy. She and Peter where trying to find each other, and would have been partners if they had. Peter appears to have been chaos though, so I don't know about Wendy...

Ha, oops, didn't mean to like, meant to quote.

I'm Wendy. That's what I meant when I said PBC was on my list (and when I poured one out for the homies). I've been on the lookout for Peter. Caiter outed me.

I definitely understand the paranoia, but I think there's enough evidence that you should be able to trust me. Consider: Caiter outed my role, including (in an earlier post) that I was definitely a villager and looking for Peter. If Caiter is a villager seer, she would have no reason to lie. If Caiter is a wolf seer (which she absolutely is, will get into that later), then it wouldn't make sense for me to be gunning for her so hard if I was a wolf. So either way, if you believe she's a seer, it confirms I'm a villager.

I agree. These all seem very similar in nature.

Well hi there Caiter. Have anything to share from last night? Seeing as you're oh-so-useful to our cause.

Lynch Caiter.

Dude, give it up. By this point it is obvious the wolves are just messing with everyone by leaving me alive. They know you're set on trying to get them to lynch me. I'm a waste of a kill for them. Yeah, they're probably concerned I'll eventually seer one of them, but I haven't had luck yet.

Someone protected me last night, so thank you to whoever that was. It appears to have not been needed though.

Someone also sent me a box that will protect me for tonight, so jokes on you wolves for letting me live another day 😛

This confuses me. You said "if Caiter is a villager seer, she would have no reason to lie". But then you said she is a wolf seer. So she did have reason to lie?

Dumb mistake, Caiter. If you were a villager, no way you would have spilled the beans about this magical "box". You would have hoped the wolves came after you, to keep our numbers up and protect another villager. Good try though. Think about your covers for a little bit longer, next time.

Okay, now I'm at a computer.

Although, if people are going to get suspicious of me when I get just a little quiet (fair enough I suppose since I've been relatively active--the joy's of super light school schedule) I should make you guys aware that my activity will likely decrease starting tomorrow. I'm still going to be as active as I can (addicted!) but I'm leaving for a dog show national on Wednesday so the next two days are going to be crazy with the packing/dog washing and then I'm going to be on the road and then--if this game is even still going and I'm still alive--I will be at a show during the better part of the day. I will have internet connection and still definitely be able to get my lynch votes in though and contribute some to the deliberation.

With that said, I am off to carefully reread what's been said since the night events and I will offer up my thoughts.

This confuses me. You said "if Caiter is a villager seer, she would have no reason to lie". But then you said she is a wolf seer. So she did have reason to lie?

What I mean is, we've confirmed Caiter is a seer, even if we haven't confirmed her affiliation (wolf vs villager).

There are two possibilites. She's a villager seer, or a wolf seer.

In both cases, the things she's said in the past make it unlikely that I'm a wolf.

If she's a villager seer, when she said I was "definitely a villager", there's no reason to think she would have been lying.

If she's a wolf seer, it wouldn't make a lot of sense for me to be a wolf, since I'm going to get her ass lynched tonight if it's the last thing I do.

Not a wolf seer. Kam just has it out for me. Which is ridiculous if she's a villager as well.

I don't know what would happen if Peter and Wendy found each other, and don't know if they did. Peters chaos. If they found each other, maybe Wendy became chaos as well. Or would autoconvert when Peter died. That seems to have been a thing in past games with wolves, I can see it happening with chaos as well.

I think Caiter is telling the truth. Which leads me to believe Kam is a wolf... SOMEONE ELSE COMMENT AND SAY WHAT YOU THINK PLZ

I am thinking that maybe the wolves knew who peter was... which inclined Kam to say she was Wendy as a coverup for actually being a wolf.

Happy guys? If kam ends up dead tonight, not my fault.

Never said you were a villager. Just got that you where Wendy looking for Peter and would be partners if you did.

Also, Caiter, waiting for the answer to this....

Well hi there Caiter. Have anything to share from last night? Seeing as you're oh-so-useful to our cause.

Lynch Caiter.

If you're a villager seer and haven't found a wolf yet, as you claim, that means you must have cleared another villager's name last night. Care to share who it is? No need to out their character and role, just confirm that they're a villager.

Here, I'll use this as an opportunity to both clear my name and confirm what I've said before about Caiter.

Easy to do. Copying and pasting my role description sent at the beginning of the game:

Wendy- The eldest and only girl of the Darling family, you find yourself on a fantastical journey when a boy of magic flies into your room. You must submit a player's name each night in search of Peter Pan. Once you find him, you've got yourself a partner.

Okay, I pasted that as quickly as I could, to show you guys how easy it would have been for Caiter to do the same back when we asked it of her before the lynch.

Not so easy to fake under time pressure, though, I'd imagine. We all have roles from Lupin and SOV we can refer back to, so we can compare to their writing style.

I was willing to do it, Caiter, why weren't you?

I thought by the "faces that look familiar" comment that they were mostly referring to Peter... but maybe it is someone else they're talking about.

If someone has the ability to kill other than a wolf, do you think they've been using it? I mean, we only had one kill last night instead of two and I'm not sure if the attempt on Hazel was actually an attempt on Hazel... or if just popped into the the write up because Peter was already after Hazel... if that makes any sense?

It says "delve into more destructive forms of behavior", so it sounded to me like this was the first kill attempt. We're consistently losing two villagers every night, and it looks like the wolves had two targets tonight too: Hazel and PBC. Wish we knew who PBC was trying to kill...

No, no Caiter is the one who said Kam was Wendy. Kam just confirmed it.

Did you ever tell us anything about your character? I can't remember.

Never said you were a villager. Just got that you where Wendy looking for Peter and would be partners if you did.

Nice try Caiter, but you did say I was a villager, just not in that post. See below:

I am 100% convinced the only reason I'm still around is the wolves either a) decided to see if I reveal anyone else I've seered, and/or b) think I'm an easy target for the lynch today cause some people are still really suspicious of me.

I did seer someone last night, but I'm not outing them after what happened to aloha. They're a villager looking for their partner, so they're not someone we want killed.
